I love their mismatched drinking glasses and the cozy atmosphere. If you're lucky enough to get a table near where you can see them make the crepes, it's mesmerizing. Watching them ladle the batter on the spinning wheel, seeing them slowly make the crepe, smelling the scent wafting in the air makes you hungrier. The service is kinda slow, and I'm not a fan of their coffee. But if you're looking for yummy crepes without a big price tag attached, and if you're in the mood to dawdle over food and conversation (they don't push you out), this is the place.

This place is a very special cafe. Great crepes and wonderful service.

Just moved to the neighborhood and ate here for the first time. I was excited by the brunch menu, and the atmosphere was cozy upon arrival. They were prompt to bring our coffee and water, and were easy-going about substituting fruit for salad & potatoes. My date and I were in no hurry, so we didn't inquire when 20 minutes had passed without any sign of our meals. We ordered a crepe with cheese, avocado and bacon and a french toast plate with 2 eggs and sausage. Another 20 minutes went by with no food, but plenty of coffee refills. We finally got our food, and it was relatively well prepared (although the ingredients weren't very evenly dispersed throughout the crepe: wads of cheese and gobs of avocado facing off across a mountain range of chopped bacon). About 1/4 way through our meal, a woman stood up and inquired loudly across the counter about why she had been waiting 45 minutes for her breakfast food. The owner/manager was quick to respond (and here's where things got "interesting"): He checked the woman's order ticket and corrected her- she had only been waiting 41 minutes, and her food was now ready. She explained that she had eaten there before and experienced a similar unreasonable wait, although that was due to her order ticket falling from the queue and being forgotten. The cook interjected to say that he remembered the "ticket falling" incident and that they compensated the customer with free dessert. The customer retorted that she had paid for her dessert at her last visit, and was simply inquiring as to the delay (a question we had seriously considered asking after 40 minutes...). The owner began raising his voice to the customer and trying to convince her that the wait was perfectly reasonable, as they were "busy": all the tables were indeed full, and there were about 20 customers. She said that he was being rude, and his customer service technique was good ol' reliable 'rubber and glue' - the customer was being rude by asking! She pointed out that 2 gentlemen who had arrived after her were already eating. The quick-witted cook leapt to the rescue by asking the customer (in a classically condescending fashion) : "how many people are in their party? (2) how many people are in your party? (3)" The owner took that opportunity to remind the young woman that he had been the owner/manager for 7 years, and he knew what he was doing. At this point our meal was essentially ruined, and I was reminded of eating dinner at a table while my parents argued over nothing. A simply apology by the owner would've really smoothed things over, but he couldn't bring himself to it. The young woman and her two friends decided that they were ready to leave, and began packing up. She proceeded to offer to pay and the big-shot owner said no, no, of course not. "Wait until your food is ready and then walk out", he chided. She informed him that she frequented the place but would not be back, and the owner (projecting his voice across the restaurant) said that he didn't need her business, and offered her the meal to go (in a desperate sarcastic fashion). The young woman declined and went over to her waitress at the register (she had previously said that the specific waitress was a friend of hers). The young woman quietly tipped her waitress/friend and started to say that she was sorry but she wouldn't be returning after how she was treated by the owner. Meanwhile, the owner (4 feet away) began trying to INTIMIDATE the customer, asking why she was talking to the waitress when he was "right there" for her to talk to (the woman's 2 friends, a couple with their baby, had already walked out to wait outside). He came over behind the waitress and loomed over the counter. She said that she was done talking to him and was saying goodbye to her friend, and he accused her of trying to talk about him while he was right there. She got fed up and just turned and walked out. Every patron at every table watched on in agony as the owner demonstrated just how tactless he could be, while setting a sterling example of a failure in customer service: ungracious, unwilling to listen, and generally agitated. The waiters and busboys looked on in agony (as if this wasn't the first time the owner had virtually engaged in an altercation with the customer). I considered telling him that I couldn't enjoy my meal in the wake of the argument (which took a bare minimum of 5 minutes to play out), but I wasn't in the mood to test this guy, as he had gotten pretty huffy, and for all I know was ready to snap. We paid and tipped our waiter, but I can't be emphatic enough in this rambling "review" (I know I'm griping) that you should not give this guy your business. Atrocious morning, and I'm still in a bad mood 4 hours later. I thank anyone who read through all that. My summary: The food is fine, the menu is fine, the waitstaff is pleasant and the atmosphere is fine as long as the owner keeps his mouth shut. He doesn't care about your business. Stay away.

Better Crepes than I've had in Paris. Nice service, too

Super good, super filling. Only downside was that we had to ask multiple times for water/coffee refills.

A delightful surprise. Small, bistro-esque. We were looking for an inexpensive nearby place for lunch. I got a savory crepe with salmon, goat cheese and capers. Yum! Friendly service. Definitely a good deal.

THE CASE OF THE MISSING BAGUETTE: It was a glum and chilly day when Lauren S. and Morgan E. decided to venture out in search of brunch. Our travels found us here at one of the spoils of being a Columbia student. We fell in love with the name because anybody who is worthy of the Bay Area knows about the Mecca that is Crepes on Cole. So we figured we'd try a little taste of home. The anticipation nearly killed me and sent Morgan into a fit of rage (well ... maybe that's an exaggeration) as we waited over 20 minutes for a toasted baguette to whet our appetite. Bread people! And some jam on the side! When someone orders jam and bread it is not to consume with the main course! It is to hold them over until the good stuff arrives! And yet ... the tasty crepe stuffed me. I don't recommend the fried egg in the breakfast crepe. It's just a little too much. And I felt a little pukey after I cleaned my plate because it was so filling. I was starving though and scarfed my food like I hadn't eaten in three days ... so maybe it's just me being a pig. Prices are reasonable. I understand that crepes take a little while. A good crepe maker is patient and methodical but this is not fast food. Still, Baguette doesn't equal Crepe. And next time I know not to bother ordering an appetizer. Kudos also on the fresh squeezed orange juice. I enjoyed it. But I would have preferred it pulp free. And what happened to the baguette you ask? It came out AFTER our food. I would've told them to just cancel the order, but Morgan is greedy like that.

I went for the first time on Thursday for a late lunch and it was awesome!! The waitress, I think her name was Liz , was friendly and quick. I got a chocolate lover's crepe and it was AMAZING!! I highly reccommend this place and will be telling anyone who will listen about it :)

  • Terrence H.

I had bacon, eggs, and goat cheese on a baguette with hot sauce on the side, and it was one of the best things I've ever had. My date had crepes with nutella, banana, and strawberries and they were pretty tasty as well. The crepes were around $6 and my sandwich was around $8 or $9. It was mildly busy, but there was no wait for a table around 1 on a Saturday. I am definitely going back again.

They use fresh and high quality ingredients. The crepes itself were not that great. It was a bit greasy,

This wonderful Crepe place opened about 6 months ago near my apt and I was very excited. My favorite crepes were Ham with cheddar cheese and Bacon Avacodo Basil Crepe.

Hours- Daily: 8am-10pm I tried 2 things at a very morning~ 1. Chocolate Lovers Crepes $6.50 ( Choice Of Three Fillings) Not so good. It was too sweet for me as a main dish. It may be better as a dessert, though. 2. Two eggs on a french baguette, $4.50 Nice! In all, I am not impressed by its food. AND everyone knows that the service here is pretty slow.

  • David C.

Been there a couple of times, both times for dinner without many people in restaurant. Both times was happy with the food, but come prepared to wait a LONG time. Even without more than two other tables in the restaurant with customers, we waited a little less than an hour after ordering for our food. With desert, dinner took 2 hours. But this is a great place as long as you're willing to wait.

    (3)
  • Adrianna G.

Meh. We had the breakfast crepe and the savory crepe. The crepes were not fluffy, and too thick.. the cappuccino was lukewarm and not strong enough. Very average, wouldn't recommend.

    (2)
  • Michael G.

The food was excellent. As for the service? The standard dress code for the waiters and waitresses is a t-shirt that says, "I don't give a crepe". It's not a joke, it's a disclaimer. If you come here for brunch, come without plans for the rest of the day and bring a book to read (say, War and Peace or The Bible)

A great find on the UWS. A nice little crepe place. Very friendly service too!

  • Robert M.

Very good place. A ton of selection and variety on the menu, including sweet (carmel apples), savory (bacon, avocado, and basil creme), and other goodies such as sandwiches and salads. The dessert crepes, with your choice of chocolates and fillings, are awesome! The prices are really good, and the atmosphere is also quite cool.

We go to Crepes on Columbus quite frequently since we live in the area. We are a BIG fan of their food especially since you can build your own omelettes and crepes and with dietary restrictions that is always a good thing! Our favorites are Egg Whites with Goat Cheese, Spinach and Mushrooms as well as Eggs with Avocado, Mushrooms and Swiss. We always try to save room for a sweet crepe for dessert (White chocolate, Strawberries and Bananas...is our fav) - sometimes we do our job well and sometimes the main crepes/omelettes just get in the way and we do not have room. Unfortunately, our last experience we had at our neighborhood gem, wasn't so wonderful and not due to the food but the service and air quality. We went this past Sunday and it was packed with a wait. Totally understandable for a Sunday morning. The unfortunate part is that they were down a bus boy and the tables weren't being turned over quickly so even though there were empty tables, they were dirty and not available to the people standing in line. Additionally, it took forever to get coffee, menus and water....the basics. Now to the air quality...... we have ALWAYS walked out smelling like the food we just ate. Our clothing and hair stinks. To the point where I plan on going there before showering for the day and then go home to change and shower. Additionally, there is usually a smell of food mixed with cleaning fluid. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not have a ventilation system equipped for the small space and the windows do not open. So even on a beautiful day, you can't open the windows to get some fresh air in there. There have been several times when we have wanted to/thought to go to Crepes on Columbus but have decided against it as the air quality is so poor! We wish the owner would do something about the air quality as even though the restaurant has good food and is convenient, my lungs aren't as happy once we have dined there!

I had avoided coming here because even though I live around the corner, the crepes seemed pretty expensive. I finally went on a whim the other night and found that I have not been missing much. I got a dessert crepe with dark chocolate, strawberries, and walnuts ($6.50). Although the crepe (more like crepes - there were 2 wrapped up crepes on the plate) itself was good, it wasn't really chocolately enough for me. If you're into chocolate, I'd forget the 3rd ingredient choice and get double chocolate. It was bigger than I expected, but still not worth $8+ (with tax and tip). On top of that, the one waiter had friends in the restaurant and he sat down at a table with them most of the time. I'm totally fine with having your friends come chill with you at work, but you still need to do your job. It took us 15 minutes to get our water refilled. And the decor really leaves something to be desired. I'm not sure I would come back for a crepe, but the brunch/breakfast menu did look pretty good and not horribly overpriced.

Most ppl go for the crepes, but don't forget to try the sandwiches! they're SO good and the portions are HUGE! It's one of the few places in the area that's always packed with loyal costumers.

French toast was delicious but they use fake maple syrup:( and the bacon was not of high quality. Also the place smells like burning. My hair smelled like burnt crepes all day after having brunch there. Maybe I went on a busy day but the service was really slow. Coffee was good and reasonably priced.

  • Daniel R.

Worst service ever. The worst. I used to work in the service industry so I generally sympathize if food is running a little behind. Not a problem. But in this place even getting a coffee is a production. It's a shame as well because the crepes are good, but the service is so horribly bad that I would never return to this place. Ever. Dear crepes on columbus, I want two hours of my life back.

yummy crepes!! a bit pricey, but the savory crepes and salad were really really good~ me and my friends all planned to go back there for breakfast/brunch sometimes soon :)

The place was crowded for a Sunday morning, but the waitress was super friendly. She even offered to make a half-portion for my daughter. My crepe with goat cheese, tomatoes and avocado was delicious. My daughter's french toast was very good too.

I started coming to this place when it first opened and I lived around the corner. I don't live in New York anymore, but when I visit, I always try to make it my last meal before leaving. Dessert crepes are nice, but breakfast crepes are definitely the way to go! The potatoes are amazing (I'm drooling a little thinking about them) and it also comes with a beautiful salad. I usually get some combination of goat cheese, spinach, onions, mushrooms, or something like that... and its always yummy. What I liked most about the place at first though was that unlike other coffee shops across the street that will not be named, you don't need to know the secret handshake for people to be nice to you. The owner and staff are always super friendly. Oh also, the flan is really good!

If you want a solid brunch or dinner, and you're in the neighborhood, look no further than Crepes on Columbus. I've eaten here countless times, and I've never had a bad experience. The wait staff is very friendly and the food is always great. I recommend the goat cheese/ratatouille crepe or the pork chops.

This place has quickly become one of my favorites in New York. Being just a hop, skip, and a jump from the friends place I usually stay at it became almost a daily routine. I've tried at least one of each type of thing on the menu (savory crepe, sweet crepe, salads, sandwiches, etc.). And have yet to be disappointed. My friend Josh prefers the red mango smoothie. And I must agree. Great for any reason but it will definitely knock out one crazy hangover as well. The atmosphere here is just a blast. The staff is so friendly and nice it makes you want to order a coffee after your meal and just sit and relax for awhile. I plan on hitting this place up again as soon as I'm back in the city. So regardless if you're just in town for a few nights or a local. I'd be sure to check it out.

  • Leslie J.

Yay! I really love this place. I have always been a fan and I tell all of my friends to go here if they find themselves uptown. The staff is always the friendliest and they keep my husband happy with continuous Mt Dew refills. Everything you order is amazing, the crepes obviously but I suggest checking out any of the sandwiches as well. The only reason I took off a star is because it changed to cash only recently. I hate worrying about cash!

Local. Delicious. Creative dishes (try the oeufs Columbus). Warm environment full of friendly faces. My go-to place for breakfast/brunch. Expect to leave, smelling like a greasy kitchen. Decent to good coffee. Delightful staff!

My first visit was on a busy saturday afternoon. I ordered the french toast with bacon and eggs. My meal was good but overall average. They give you a lot of french toast so make sure you're hungry like I was. My second visit I came on a slow monday and ordered the ouef columbus. My meal was satisfyingly delicious and of the perfect portion size. I will safely order this again if I return. I topped off my meal with a chocolate lovers crepe with bananas, cinnamon apple and walnuts. I think they were trying to trick me because initially there was absolutely no chocolate. I corrected this error but was overwhelmed by the corrected plate. I think he over compensated because all I could see was a liquid mound of herseys chocolate and white chocolate chunks. My now chocolatey crepe was soggy and overpowering. I've had much much better. If you plan on visiting I recommend skipping the sweets and going straight for the columbus.

Food is very good and the best pancakes around but it is all overshadowed by long waits for food and bad service. Everyone is nice but the last 4 times I went there they managed to get my order wrong and after waiting 15 minutes for my food, I didn't want to wait another 15 minutes for my corrected order. my 3 stars reflects the service not the food. If you don't mind waiting 15-20 minutes for them to deliver your food and the possibility of them getting it wrong, then you will enjoy the foo. Get the pancakes!!

My breakfast here was outstanding. I created a breakfast crepe with scrambled eggs, salmon, cream cheese and avocado. The service was great even though the restaurant was crowded!

Excellent breakfast place! I had the omelette, which was really good. The crêpes are sort of the star though -- id recommend banana Nutella.

Came here for brunch on Sunday. Got here around 11am and didn't have to wait, but a lot of people started trickling in around noon. This place deserves higher stars for their crepes. I unfortunately ordered their french toast with a side of sausage. The sausage was of abhorrent quality (they dicded up the breakfast sausages and fried it to oblivion - anyone who's ever worked in the industry knows this is a tactic to hide extremely bad quality food). The french toast was just meh, I got bored of it quickly. They use a lot of eggs, but there wasn't that much flavor in it for my taste. I like french toast maybe with some sugar, or maybe cinnamon, or vanilla, or orange zest ... SOMETHING ... Boyfriend on the other hand, ordered a breakfast crepe with goat cheese, spinach, and eggs and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. It was good! The crepe was thin and on the crispy side, kinda like a dosa. Not like the thick doughy rubbery ones you'll occasioanlly run into. Maybe next time i'll order a crepe. If you're not making a breakfast one with 3 ingredients though, the crepes can get kind of expensive. I saw a lot of them hover for around the $15 mark.

I came here for brunch with a friend, and was satisfied with my experience. The wait was minimal, and the menu was extensive. But alas, I knew what I wanted to get - a nutella and strawberry crepe. Yes, dessert at noon. I didn't feel rushed by the waiter, which is a plus and a rarity in New York. Often times, waiters want you in and out of the restaurant. It's all about supply (food/limited seats) and demand (from millions of New Yorkers). But my friend and I were able to catch up and take our sweet time enjoying our crepes. Good food, good price.

    (5)
  • Rachel S.

I love their crepes! I usually get Nutella and strawberry or Nutella, strawberry, and marshmallow. Both are delicious. Service is good and employees are pleasant. It's a small and friendly place, and unlike most everywhere in this city, it's not loud! I also really like the French toast but for some reason I get a stomach ache after eating it.

  • Monsanto A.

This place is a staple in the community. The owner has seen my daughter grow up. It's kind of cool that our brunch spot owner remembers her when she was just a little baby. Also, LOVE their Nutella Banana Crepes!!!

  • Elle C.

I came here twice on Sunday mornings for brunch. I got a crepe with bacon, avocado and basil creme the first time and a crepe with ratatouille and chicken the second time. The first crepe was descent, although I think they went overboard with the creme part. The second crepe was really disappointing: the chicken was tasteless and ratatouille didn't have enough tomato sauce. I also tried my friend's pancakes and eggs and they were both pretty bad. The pancakes are no better than the cheap mixes sold at supermarkets and the eggs were served cold and hard. I was hoping that this place would be a hidden gem of Morningside Heights where there is virtually no good brunch option, but I was really disappointed. I won't return.

  • Ari R.

I was really looking forward to going here based on the reviews but I have to say I was not impressed and actually disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was not great. It had cornichons instead of sliced pickles like an original Cuban sandwich and the amount of spicy mustard on it was so much that my boyfriend was choking and tears came down his eyes as did mine when I took a bite. We decided to move on and try the crepes which everyone said was good but it was really disappointing. I had a banana, caramel crepe and it tasted sugarless and the caramel had no flavor. I will not be returning. However the staff was friendly but when asked about how I liked the crepe I was honest but polite and he just said "sorry about that" and walked away. As a staff person it should be a priority to make sure the customer is satisfied and I should have been asked about why I didn't like the food so they could take it into consideration and improve but that was not done and at the end I felt awkward.

This place is so great! I will say the service is not GREAT. But, it seems like they have a very small staff and it doesnt matter because everything that I have ordered from here has been SO delicious! I got a club sandwich and it was the best I have ever had, and the servings are decent. I will admit, it does take a while but it warns you of that on the menu (10 minute wait because they cook as you order)

What a cute find! Reasonably priced, wide delivery area and oh so delicious! Be advised that if you are far away from their location, it will take some time to get to you. The first experience I had was in the actual location, the place is clean and staff is friendly. Very simply decorated but who cares because they have delicious crepes, a good size, great ingredients and a side of a fresh salad with balsamic vinaigrette. YUM.

Food was great! I love the Crepe with nutella, strawberry & bananas. I felt like I was on Crepe on crack!!!! It's sooooooooooooo freakin' good! Cafe con leche is awesome too.

  • Shanon M.

Great food but delivery comes more than an hour late, making the food cold. I waited 1.5 hours for french toast and it came with no syrup. i had to then wait for that be delivered. That's just one example. Good food but not worth it.

  • Lola G.

Not bad. it's like a salad... no guilt because it's pretty good and not pricey. there is a little wait and the place isn't too big, but friendly good service. crepes are good but they are not the best i've had. The ham cheese swiss crepe is cold in parts, warm in others. Also, the ham is quite possibly lunch meat. almost like when you microwave something and it's warm in parts, and still cold in others. The avocado bacon crepe was good but needs a tad more bacon if you ask me...but I love all the avocado though! i would return to try the sweet crepes sometime.

Really cool space (RMG TV added a nice touch). Rockwells in the bathrooms, water while you wait for your takeout, & impeccable service. Owner helped me out, really nice guy...smoked salmon/ratatouille egg/scallions savory crepe was excellent and the triple chocolate crepe with dark/white chocolate/& coconut was an awesome sweet treat. Lot of food...bit pricy but not expensive...it goes to the fresh ingredients you can see them prepare.

First time here with my boyfriend. Such a great find! Been in the 'hood' for months but never stopped in. That all changed today! Cute, low key, casual setting with friendly service and awesome food! We split the bac/avocado/goat cheese crepe and it was delicious. The crepe was cooked perfectly and the goat cheese was so tasty. Definitely stop in and try this spot!

came here with friends because we had a google offer for $30 dollars. we ordered the salmon crepe and chicken with mushroom and basil creme and i regretfully must say that our table would have to agree that the food was quite bland and the crepes could have been better. even the desserts were not quite the right taste as they were too sweet and the fruits were definitely not fresh eventhough they were advertised as fresh. food does take awhile to come out but i must say that the service is exceptionally good. the server was very helpful, kind and patient. the location and store itself is easy found and clean but it is not enough to persuade me to come back. if you are looking for good grepes, you are better off going to the creperie, vive la crepe or yorkville.

I'd tried this place once before and really wasn't too impressed. I realized today, upon giving this place another shot, why my first visit was less than impressive. My most favorite indulgence in the world is a Nutella, strawberry, and banana filled crepe. On my last visit to Crepes on Columbus, they barely filled my crepe with Nutella. This time, I requested that they put extra Nutella in my crepe and it made all of the difference. Their crepes are as good as they come, not only that, but their portions are very generous. I got out of there spending $13 on a delicious breakfast which included a crepe, espresso (of course) and a tip. This place is nothing spectacular as far as ambiance goes but I like that it's only 10 blocks away from home and that it specializes in crepes.

I am a huge fan for crepes. I am pleased after dinning here. The crepes I tried here are Shrimp and spinach and smoked salmon ones. Both of them are tasty and crispy style I like. I would love to come back some day after wandering central park area.

Came here for lunch. We had their lunch crepes and they were delicious. The restaurant was steaming hot though, I was sweating the whole time. Make it a little more comfortable and I'd give it 5 stars.

Oh mushroom and goat cheese crepe, how I love you. Let me count the ways....to devour you on a weekly basis. I've been to "C on C" (no one calls it that, but I'm trying to start something) for nearly two years, and it's just consistently awesome. Thank God for this place in an area that's up and coming...inch by inch. The place is always full, yet a few seats will magically appear no matter what time you walk in. Sometimes the service isn't great, but they always make up for it with their savory dessert crepes. I've considered looking for an apartment near the restaurant, which is sad. The owner is very nice too!

Nutella and banana crepe!!! Delish Great service, and not expensive!

  • Emily Z.

The food here is hands-down delicious, no question. You can't go wrong with it, seriously. The nutella and strawberry crepes are yummy, of course (who can mess up nutella and strawberry?) but the more complex and savory crepes are also amazing. I'm also quite partial to the sandwiches every now and then, which are hearty and tasty in a way that sandwiches rarely are. So why only three stars? The service is a problem. The wait staff is polite and lovely, friendly every time. But it's slow, which can get frustrating. I'm not sure what their problem is exactly (I suspect it may just be too few crepe-making stations and too many people ordering crepes), but you can expect to wait a long time for a table and even longer for your food at brunch. Still, when you have the time, it's really delicious.

  • Chris T.

A neighborhood gem. Crepes on Columbus provides consistently tasty and affordable food, whether on site or by delivery. The portions are also quite generous. Their sweet and savory crepes are simply delicious. I enjoy any of the sweet crepes with nutella; I also like any of the savory crepes made with ratatouille. The non-crepe entrees are also good, though I would stick to the crepes . . . and their homemade chicken and vegetable soup. I know, soup and crepes don't seem to go hand-in-hand, but I would have their soup at any meal. It's simple and delicious: fresh zucchini, carrots, potatoes, and chicken breast in a clear broth with just enough minced garlic and chopped parsley.

Delicious. I had such a great breakfast crepe with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and ham, with delicious potatoes and salad on the side. My boyfriend had an omelet - that looked just as good! To top it off, we shared a dessert crepe with Nutella and strawberries. Whats better than that - probably a jar of Nutella with a spoon, but this is as good as it gets. The wait staff was friendly, and the food was very fresh. Crepes on Columbus is genius! (thank you livingsocial for another great deal)

This place is ree-donk-cue-less! Incredible crepes for a unbelievable price. I had a crepe with Nutella®, caramel, and fresh tangerines. My wife had a crepe with Nutella®, Caramel, and spiced / diced apples. Needless to say we came in our pants...it was THAT ree-donk-cue-less! The only reason I give it a 4/5 is that there were flies EVERYWHERE. It was pretty effing dirty when you walk in. The windows had finger print marks that looked like they had been there for well over a month. I don't suggest you order for delivery (which they do), because once your food gets to you it may be cold. Crepes aren't known for keeping warm for very long. So get em...and scarf em down, but enjoy the diabetic coma you will be in from the orgasmic sugary rush.

Love the crepes! Really good, and not expensive at all! They sure can work on making the place more cozy and maybe find a way to get that smell of fried cooking out of that room.

MY girlfriend and I have been here multiple times. This place has it all in terms of crepes. Great savory crepes, delicious dessert crepes, and they do brunch really well. Warning: the service can be off and on at times, but the staff is always friendly (if sometimes overwhelemd due to too many patrons and not enough servers). I love all of the dessert crepes that have Nutella in them and the Tiger Shrimp is my favorite savory crepe. MY GF loves all the savory crepes that have goat cheese in them.

The goat cheese crepe with ratatouille was ok, nothing special though. Lots of tomato, lots of cheese. Large portion. Baby greens with balsamic served on the side. For almost $10, not very worth a return trip. The half baguette served with the soup was delicious, warm and very generous, though eating it kinda negated any attempt at having a relatively healthy soup lunch. The fact that I walked in to a restaurant with only three other patrons seated there, ordered my crepe, and then sat waiting next to the crepe making station for almost 10 minutes before the guy came over and started cooking was obnoxious.

I went recently because I had a groupon. The service was friendly and the atmosphere simple, pleasant. Some advice though, if you order food, definitely stick to the crepes. We ordered butternut squash soup and what we got was 2 bowls of boiled squash, partially pureed with water added. We stuck to the basics for the crepes- one butter and sugar, one nutella and banana. They were very good!

I can't remember all the exact details because I went here a while back, but at least one crepe was really great (the nutella one?) and the other was pretty good. (the savory?) Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I went here early on a Saturday morning, before breakfast rush. My girlfriend and I ordered cafe con leche, and it came out really terribly burnt. On the other hand, our breakfast dishes came out perfect. The ouef Columbus (poached eggs, potato pancake, ratatouille) was incredibly savory, and the croque madame was very good although the egg wasn't cooked into the sandwich so much as placed on top. We ended the meal with a very nice bannana nutella crepe and an unwelcome surprise: they charged us for refills of regular offee! I wish I'd known that before accepting their refill offers... Anyway, it was a nice enough breakfast despite the missteps.

This is not a 5-star restaurant, but for what it is they deserve 5-stars here. I'll be back. --Update--2010 July-- I went back, again and again. Sandwiches, dinner crepes, desert crepes, they are the best! I heard they may have moved to a new location (but that would be after I moved so I'm not sure). The desert crepes you have to try at least once.

I like this place. It's not crowded. It's not loud. The staff is very nice (sometimes you'll get the one who is circling the moon so it takes them forever to come and check on you, and when they do it's cuz you're ready with the check). I looove the crepes here! The strawberry, banana, and nutella is my all time favorite *-*. I always get one of their pasta bowls. They serve a lot and it's very tasty ^_^. For the quality of the food, I'd say the price is very good.

Oh my god. I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place yet. I've been going for over a year. Epicfail on my part. Anyway, Crepes on Columbus has become a staple in my life. Despite some people's hit or miss experiences here, I've always had fantastic experiences (though I almost always come at dinner time). They have some of the best crepes I've had in my life and definitely the best I've had in NYC. For a while, like the weirdo that I am, I was going (or at least attempting to) pop in for dessert after getting a goat meat dinner at the Caribbean place Frida's across the street (I know, the combination is like OMGWTFBBQ, but oh so delicious nevertheless). During my most recent visit to use the $30 LivingSocial deal I purchased, I knew I had to bring an army with me, because one of the things I love about Crepes on Columbus is that the sweet crepes are so cheap! You can easy make your own combination with nutella, strawberries and maybe another topping for $6 something. Not only are they not pricey, they're also filling and delicious (did I already say delicious?). This time around, I also finally got around to trying a savory crepe, one with smoked turkey, goat cheese, ratatouille, and some other goodness, which was, not surprisingly, goodness. Also the owner and the other people that work there are always super nice and pleasant every time I come, so that adds to the experience. If I ever want crepes, I know where to go. P.S. It does look boarded up right now, but they are still open! I was like GASP! for minute, when I was approaching where I thought it was located.

great crepes and my go-to breakfast place to take visitors in morningside heights! You can go savory, egg filled, or sweet....basically a little something for everyone, you don't even have to get crepes! I highly recommend getting the ratatouille as a filling; either with your egg filled crepe or in the option that I think comes with chicken and goat cheese. They take a long time to make everyone's orders so I wouldn't recommend this for breakfast or brunch if you are in a hurry, but the coffee is bottomless so if you have time sit back and enjoy! There are so many toppings/fillings everyone should be happy. For veggie lovers out there, you will be happy to know that crepes come with a side of potatoes AND salad!

I found this place on MenuPages and I'm so glad that I found it! I usually have "Oeuf Columbus" and it's just delicious, the best ratatouille. The crepes are to die for. Over all, the food here is phenomenal. I've never had a complaint regarding the food. However, there is always a LONG wait for your food, even when the place isn't packed you still have to wait quite a while for your food to be ready. I've also noticed the staff is not that friendly, or "warm" and they're quite slow to take your order. If I'm not mistaken the owner is the gentlemen that makes the crepes. So if I were him, I'd hire different staff and possible expand the kitchen staff. I usually try to come in VERY early so that I can get my food quickly.

I visited NY recently and this place was so good I ate there twice for breakfast/brunch! The quiche was delectable, and the crepes were perfect. The coffee could be better, but it beat Starbucks by far (this coming from Seattle). The service was average, but the food made up for that!

Arrived 7pm on the dot, it took 10-15 minutes to take our order when there was literally 2 tables (a couple and a single person) there that were actually leaving anyways. Eventually people started to arrive after we ordered. There was only one waitress doing everything. It took about an hour and half to receive our food, we only salad and crepes. Everyone in the room got there food before us, even though we were the first to arrive and first to order. Ironically, I had asked the waitress which is better the french toast or the pancakes, she said I should get the pancakes because the wait is shorter. Imagine if I did order the french toast. HA! We were patient, 15 mins passed then 30 then 45 mins finally an hour passed but we totally understood because the place was packed, so we figure the kitchen was backed up and there was only one waitress. We havent seen our waitress since she took our order so we wanted to make sure she did not forget about us so we asked our waitress if our food was coming out and she got a attitude and said it coming out right now, then I watched her walk away and serve 3 other tables food before ours. 20 minutes later she came back to us and told us it is coming out again. I asked for bread at least while we still had to wait, the food arrived 15 minutes later then the bread I asked for arrived after, by then there was no point! When the food arrived there was a hair in it, The manager was setting a table away from us, so we tried to get his attention and he ignored us on purpose, b/c there was no way he did not hear us. We finally sent it back to the manager, it took another 15 minutes to get back to us while my other sisters finished there food. The manager came back and did not even set it on the table but instead just handed it to my sister and said sarcastically "want to check if there is anymore hairs?" and before my sister could even set it on the table he already went over her and grabbed all the plates from us.The food is nothing to brag about I can find better crepes somewhere else. I had to travel all the way uptown just for shitty service and plain food. Never again! I regret going! Bad experience. If I could give this place NO STARS I would! It definitely deserves it! P.S Honestly, if the waitress and the manager did not catch an attitude, we would have been more understanding. Everyone at our table are waiters and bartenders, so we were being extra super patient. I am a waitress myself and work in a small restaurant too, so I understand how it is when it is super busy and short staff. I work in SOHO, so its much more busier and fast pace. We acknowledge, apologize and accommodate our customers when there is a long wait. So there is no excuse not to accomedate your customers when your constantly lacking good customer service. At least accommodate customer for there wait by refill their water. You can't have bad service and catch an attitude too! It seems that the majority of your review complains about the long wait, take a hint! you need more then one waiter and more people in the kitchen!

If I had a nickel for every time Shea looked at me and said "You're just so french" and stuck her tongue out at me, I'd have enough money to pay for law school and a trip to France! Needless to say, I am very picky about my crêpes. I found this place the first day that I moved into my apartment and immediately went in to try a standard butter and sugar crêpe. It was pretty darn tasty. Not technically up to French street crêpe cart standards, but for a cheap crêpe outside Paris, not too shabby at all! Now they just need to learn how to wrap them up in tin-foil the way the street vendors do so that I can walk out eating it! No matter, I will do it myself until they catch on. :)

Crepes on Columbus was fantastic. I ordered something that seemed like the ingredients didn't necessarily seem like they would go together, which in my experience either works out to be beyond delicious, or somewhere to the other extreme. I'm happy to say that my meal was the former. I think the meal was a roasted turkey and peach, white wine, cream sauce crepe; if I'm remembering the name correctly. That crepe was so good, I decided to order one of there chocolate crepes as a desert. The chocolate crepe may have been even better than the dinner crepe. I ordered mine with Belgium white chocolate and caramel. I could have gotten a third topping without having to pay extra, but opted not to. In another review, someone mentioned getting a chocolate crepe that they didn't think was worth the money because it wasn't stuffed very much. If you're very into the "bang for your buck" aspect, I'd definitely recommend the dinner crepe over the chocolate crepe because those come much more stuffed and don't cost a whole lot more. (I think that both orders were a pair of crepes, not just one; and I think the chocolate crepe ran about $6.50, while I'm pretty sure the dinner crepes were about a dollar more. Also, my server was incredibly friendly and nice. I think I did read one complaint about the décor in another review. The décor was rather sparse / austere, but I'm one of those low brow types that thinks that great tasting food and friendly service outweigh interior decorating in the restaurant business. So I'm still giving this one 5 stars, and I will certainly come back!

I was looking for a quick place to grab a bite on Sunday and was incredibly pleased with Crepes on Columbus. The restaurant was full without being overcrowded and my coffee was served fresh and hot. I ordered a "build your own" crepe with salmon, cream cheese, and scallions while my partner ordered a giant fluffy omelet that was also in the "build your own" fashion. Each dish was served with breakfast potatoes and salad. I really enjoyed being able to watch the chef prepare my crepe through the glass counter. I cannot wait to go back and try other combinations! Mmmm chocolate.

I woke up STARVING after drinking a million beers at St. Andrew's in Times Square last night and I found this place on yelp. Order the standard breakfast sandwich and added cheddar and ham. I walk in and this place smells AMAZING. I wasn't totally thrilled about buying an $8 breakfast sandwich, but whatever, I was starving. Thing was HUGE, and the taste was INCREDIBLE. I'll def be back to pick up a crepe of some sort there. Do yourself a favor.....

Crepes on Columbus is a solid little brunch spot in Morningside Heights. The food is simple, tasty, and familiar. I've tried a few different kinds of breakfast crepes, spinach quiche, and lemonade. I really appreciate the fact that they're willing to give me two portions of salad with my food instead of salad and potatoes, and the vinaigrette is surprisingly yummy. I also love the lemonade, which is honest-to-God fresh squeezed. Will Crepes on Columbus change your life? Probably not. But don't underestimate the value of a simple place with friendly staff, a comfortable atmosphere, and reliably tasty egg dishes.

As a local in the area, I am definitely excited that I found this place! The Apple walnut salad was delish and I loved the strawberry crepe I got for dessert! Don't ask what possessed me to pass up any of the chocolate crepes..my theory: that'll give me a great excuse to go back! :)

We came here for dinner and ordered savory dinner crepes. The staff was helpful answering questions and making recommendations. The food came out promptly and was delightful. A nice touch was when the waiter split our dessert for us. I'll be back for sure.

Outstanding Brunch! I think that I have tried every crepe here. My top three are the tiger shrimp, bacon avocado, and the turkey in peach wine cream sauce. The desert crepes are so good that my girlfriend and I will take them home and microwave them later. The owner is pretty nice as well.

Crap on Columbus! Don't bother with this craperie, they do not have any concept how to run a restaurant. The customer service is awful and the food is nothing special. My friend and I took our 4 year olds there for lunch before school and almost immediately I knew it was a mistake. As a NYC restaurant veteran of both the front and back of the house, it was painful for me to watch the waitress dig herself deeper into trouble. We were seated promptly at the last table available by the only waitress on shift that recognized my friend and remembered her name, given menus and as soon as she walked over with water I informed her we were ready to order and I was ignored. Our order had still not been taken after 10 minutes and the manager made a point of apologizing loudly to a table of 2 behind us for being kept waiting after they had already finished their meal. After 22 minutes of being ignored I finally wrote our order on a slip of paper and handed it to the waitress at the cash register. Her ineptitude was so glaring that I curtly informed her we were ignored for 20 minutes, that I understood they were busy but that we have young children that cannot be kept waiting any longer without their order being taken. She stared at me dumfounded and could not say one thing; not even an apology. Moments later she informed the manager of our order, apologized to him and ran off to the bathroom crying. I was definitely not rude or inappropriate in any way; but clearly she is unable to handle the pressure and multi-tasking ability necessary for any restaurant worker. Luckily our food arrived within 10 minutes- again with no apology or even acknowledgement to us that we had been kept waiting. My friend paid at the register since we had no intention of being kept waiting for anything else by these buffoons. On our way out, i thanked them genuinely as I always thank any retail establishment, and the manager automatically called back after us, "Ok thanks guys!" He clearly had no interest in the details of the dining experience of all his customers; was too proud or embarrassed to acknowledge their unprofessionalism or is just living up to their t-shirts motto: "I don't give a Crepe". I've lived 3 blocks away from this sh*t show for several years now and have never been. Now I know why. My friends and I with kids often dine out in the neighborhood and we will be sure to tell all our friends not to bother with this pathetic excuse for a restaurant.

This place is still around? I've been here 3 years ago and did not enjoy my experience. The service was slow, and the crepes were pretty expensive (I was on a student budget back then). It wasn't in a great area either.

Came here on the recommendation of my friend who lives in the area. Cute and humble little cafe but amazing and somewhat big crepes! I got the caramel with cinnamon apple and creme fraiche crepe, and that was decadent. The caramel oozed out as I took a bite, yum! My friend got the lemon and sugar, and even a simple crepe tasted great!

Killa French Toast to jumpstart your morning. Buttery maple syrup just makes it melt so good with that special flava. Fresh country bacon complements every breakfast dish on the menu. Cramped seating especially on Sundays for brunch though. Saw a couple (who had well finished eating) filling out a NY Times crossword puzzle together. AIn't that sooo cute?! Even though there were 20 people deep on line waiting for a table, the staff was way too nice by not asking them to move on and open up the table. Waited about 30 min to sit. Waited another 30 to eat. Will mos def return to actually try some crepes but this time I will try to wake up before noon to avoid the crowds. And people... don't do your crosswords while others are waiting to eat. Thanks.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. HORRIBLE DELIVERY. RUDE STAFF. MEDIOCRE FOOD. I ordered from Crepes on Columbus a week ago through Grub Hub and, after several false confirmations that my food had arrived and waiting outside in my pajamas for forty minutes, my delivery man finally showed up. I went back to my apartment to eat it only to realize it wasn't even the correct order. I had ordered the roast turkey crepe with peach white wine cream sauce and received the roast turkey crepe with goat cheese and ratatouille. The food I did receive was (obviously) cold and rubbery. I've worked in the restaurant business for years and can easily understand a simple mistake but I still wanted my money back. I called the restaurant and politely explained the situation and asked for a refund. The manager got on the phone and began telling me it was MY fault for living in a hard-to-find apartment building (when I had included explicit directions detailing the exact route the delivery man would take from their door to mine) and MY fault for not specifying which crepe I wanted (when all I did was click the button of the crepe I wanted on Grub Hub, NOT the one I did not want). The manager was extremely rude but I eventually convinced him to give me my $16 back. Checking my bank account activity today, however, no such action has been taken. After I finish this ridiculous refund ordeal I will not be dealing with this place ever again.

I love this place! if you want a really good dessert spot up town then this is the place to go. It's a great place to sit and relax and unwind for a moment. The crepes are 100% delicious! And if you want something more savory then you can get a dinner style crepe with shrimp or other items. And even these are totally awesome! The owner is pretty much the server at this spot...but he is always very nice and attentive. So if your looking to get your sweet tooth fix then this is the place to do it at updown.

These is one of the best places in town to get Crapes. The vibe is great, and there food very tasty. My favorite is the Goat Cheese Crape with Caramelized onions and Mushrooms. if you are going with Sweet Crapes there is almost any combo you like. my favorite is Nutella Bananas and Strawberries. Bathroom is clean, but does not have a great hand dryer, and does not provide paper towels, my trick is to grab a bunch of napkins before of after you go in.

Since I live right around the corner, I bring everyone who comes to visit here. Usually for brunch but have had dinner as well and have always been pleased. Weekend brunch is usually a little crowded and service can be a little slow, but who's in a rush for brunch anyway? I always buy the groupon deals because they're such a bargain. Love Crepes on Columbus and will always recommend it.

I had an absolutely wonderful brunch here. The crepes are delicious with a lot of variety and they're french toast was amazing! Our service was wonderful too, and overall just a great experience. I love crepes and am glad this place is just down the street. I'll definitely be coming back. Oh they also have their entire menu available all day which is awesome if you're like me and come in at 4PM in the mood for breakfast.

This restaurant was pretty close to the hotel we were staying at so we dropped by for lunch. I can't resist sweet crepes, so I had a nutella crepe while the BF had the apples and creme fraiche. While they were good, they weren't anything special. It was unmemorable... as evidenced by the fact that I forgot to review this after my NY trip until Yelp reminded me just now.

While we had to wait a bit for our food, the savory crepes we ordered were well worth the wait. The potatoes on the side were good as well. Service was friendly and I wouldn't mind coming here again.

Very nice breakfast place that serves traditional egg bacon sausage breakfast and also sweet and salty crepes. Tried their mango chicken crepes- delicious. The crepe does not come in large portion and is served with a side salad. I don't know if you replace the side with hash browns or eggs. But crepe and salad may not be able to feed a hungry person. Also tried French toast. Ok but not impressive.

Great breakfast spot. It's nothing fancy but the food is great! I got a bacon, egg and cheese in a french baguette and potatoes on the side. It was delicious! And the pricing was reasonable!

We had French toast with scrambled eggs & bacon, also goat cheese & caramel oozed onion crepe. The French toast, eggs, bacon was perfectly cooked, very tasty, satisfying. The crepe was not upto my expectation. When I was in France, good crepes that I had was extremely light, crispy, delicate.. The crepe at this joint was pretty thick and pasty.

So I have a sweet tooth, but I haven't gotten any sweet crepes yet. That means the likelihood of this review being revised (and bumped up) is very high. I've had the goat-cheese, ratatouille, turkey savory crepe as well as a breakfast plate (I don't remember which one, but my friend had steak and eggs). Pretty good breakfast food. Always seems packed on the weekends, but the wait isn't too long. Service is friendly. Coffee is servicable.

Just on the south border of Morningside Heights, this place is a trek for most, but definitely worth it if you're in the area. They have some of the most complex savory crepes I've seen anywhere (including in France). Example: Tiger shrimp, black bean paste, spinach, and basil creme fraiche. Southeast Asian influenced French food? Usually it's the other way around. We were there early on a Sunday morning (before 10am) so beat the brunch crowd, but by the time we were leaving there was a huddle forming in the entrance. The crepes were the perfect consistency, light and airy, crispy on the edges. We opted for something less adventurous (smoked salmon, avocado, basil creme, bacon). The basil creme lived up to the hype, and overall the experience was very satisfying. Now if they can just get some dry belgium cider in the house...

  • Amrisa N.

Really good Nutella and banana/strawberry crepes--sometimes a quick wait, but well worth it. Prices are also really reasonable, and they have alcohol (mimosas, beer--Presidents, Guiness), so it's perfect for a true low key brunch. Servers are nice too. Crepes run from roughly $7-$12. Yay! I've been here twice now and will be trying to go back, kind of all the time.

Went here for breakfast when my parents were in town. The cafe itself is very cute inside, and I immediately liked the ambience. I ordered the breakfast crepe combo and picked my own toppings -- avocado, goat cheese, and bacon. Maybe it was just my poor choices, but I was unimpressed. The avocado was more like warm guacamole from a package, and my orange juice tasted like it was mixed from powder. My dad's ham, swiss, and egg crepe was much better! My advice would be to order the pre-designed crepes and stick to basic ingredients. The ambience and service convinced me to give them three stars instead of two.

  • Anvy N.

1-2 stars for the french toast. It looks way better than it tastes. It was very eggy, almost soggy, and bland. I attempted multiple times to cut the toast without success because the crust was so rubbery (Jane's still has the best french toast in town). Next time (and I'm sure there will be), I'll get the crepes. The accompanying sausage however was delicious and perfectly crispy and juicy. 5 stars for the red mango smoothie. THE BEST SMOOTHIE I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Mango sorbet + strawberries + mango juice = oh my. Must get!

  • Brandon H.

This is my favorite crepe place in the city. It's difficult to describe why I believe this, but I'll try. Other crepe places (that will go unnamed) seem to burn or cook their crepe outsides too much, making it crispy. I am not a fan of this. It tastes burnt and, well, gross. Crepes on Columbus keeps it in the middle ground between soggy and burnt. It's easy to cut and eat without breaking off. I always get the egg, ham and cheese crepe, which is so good. I have tried many different combinations of their sweet crepes also. Recently I had marshmallow, caramel and cinnamon apple. It was delicious.

The owner was very attentive and great! Really delicious food. Went for a Saturday brunch and feasted on egg croissant and nutella with strawberry crepe. My boyfriend had a fried crepe and homemade apple turnover. Delicious. We had to wait over 20 min for our mimosas so they lose a star. I definitely recommend this place.

Came here two days in a row cause it was so good. Came Friday afternoon for some desert crepes, which was great. Saw some other people get lunch food and wanted to come back the next day for brunch. For some reason our food took SUPER long (40 minutes?) to come out. That woulda normally taken off at least one star. But they gave us each a "red mango" drink on the house to say sorry. It tasted mostly like a strawberry smoothie, which I loved, and didn't even know it had mangoes in there until we saw the bill. But anyway, salmon sandwich = delicious. French toast - quite possibly the best I've ever had. Seriously, that good. Well worth the wait. Compared to other NY restaurants, price seems average. Very small place though, so might have to wait a bit.

Awesome! Unbelievable! The first time I visited was on a rainy day before picking a friend up from JFK. But, I've been back for crepes and French onion soup at least 763 times more....lol. Definitely check it out if you're in the mood for quaint, yet delicious!

I went here with my husband after walking by a few times. It was around 2pm on a Sunday so there was a short, 10 minute wait. Side note: this place is small -- and super popular, so expect to wait on weekends. I ordered a strawberry and nutella crepe (because I am an undercover fat person) and my husband ordered the mushroom, goat cheese and caramelized onion crepe. Y'all -- those crepes were AMAZING. My hubby and I were mid convo when the crepes arrived. Once we each took our first bite, we were totally silent for the rest of the meal -- simply savoring (i.e. devouring) our delicious crepes and not letting silly small talk sully the experience. Oh, we also got mimosas. They were lovely too. I knocked a star off this place because the service is slow, and a bit rushed. At the end of our meal, instead of asking if we would like anything else, our server just brought us the check. I mean he was nice about it, but it did feel like he was rushing us out.

Swung by this joint for a Monday brunch. No wait, of course. Diner atmosphere. I ordered the tiger shrimp, black bean paste, spinach, and basil creme fraiche. It came with a side of mesclun salad. Boy, was that packed with delicious flavor and well portioned. $1.50 Colombian STRONG coffee with complimentary refills. Yes, please. I'll be coming back to this place very soon.

Brunch. We ordered, we ate, and we conversed. Then after an hour of this, the manager came to our table and said we had to leave because there were people waiting. It didn't help that he looked like a grump cat.

I was in New York for 2 weeks and ate here 4 times! You need to come back a few time to try and learn all of your favorite combinations of ingredients for your crepes. The food is outstanding! I usually got a dessert crepe and breakfast crepe. So good. I highly recommend this place for your next meal. It gets a little crazy on the weekends though. To have the perfect eating experience here, I would come at an odd hour during the week.

So what was bad from my previous visit made this experience downright ugly. The only reason Crepes on Columbus got stars at all this time was because of their food. Pity because everything else about our lunch today sucked! I was in a good mood before going here today as was my boyfriend. I wanted to love you Crepes. I really did. You are the first restaurant in his area that has good brunch food.... but you just had to ruin it with your less than par service today. I am pretty patient with restaurants but I almost lost my cool. This close baby, this close!!! First off, it took a good 10-15 minutes before anyone even came over to us to ask us for drink orders or even order our food. Slightly annoying (also as a side note, it also took forever to get a water refill the first 30 minutes we were there. I think after the waitress realized we were pissed she stepped it up a bit towards the end). Here's what we decided to get after doing some Yelp research and looking at the menu. My boyfriend ordered the egg platter with eggs sunny side up. I ordered the tiger shrimp crepe with basil creme and spinach after seeing it being mentioned twice on Yelp with raving reviews. THEN I ordered a dessert lover's crepe for dessert to be had after our brunch. The girl acknowledged that I said AT THE END of our meal and wrote it down. So what happened? They gave Simon over easy eggs. He wouldn't send it back though because he strongly believes people in the kitchen will spit in your food if you do. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I have to say he's probably right. The only good note of the meal was my crepe- it was delicious. The shrimp were sweet, the spinach was savory and the basil creme was just absolutely amazing. All positive stars go to that. About 5 minutes into eating our dishes, the busboy brings us our dessert crepes. I politely say " sorry but we weren't supposed to get these till the end of our meal." The boy nods and takes them back and walks off. I think he understood. So we finish. Still annoyed, but oh no it got even worse. Waitress we ordered from asks after clearing our plates if we want dessert. Ummmm hello?! We ORDERED dessert from you already. I told her that and Simon chipped in that the guy had tried to bring it to us during our meal. Yikes. I was about to go off on her and ask for the manager. So another 10 minutes goes by, and we get our dessert crepe filled with dark chocolate, strawberries and bananas. I had a strong feeling this was the crepe they had brought to us before and it had just been microwaved but whatever. It tasted good just not as good as last time since it was partly cold. I wonder what was going on there... Sure, each of these things by itself aren't that bad but altogether these offenses had both of us so riled up I was surprised we just didn't walk out and show everyone the middle finger. I really do love the food but the service is just so lacking. My boyfriend said he never wants to come here again, and I can't help but agree. Sad, because that tiger crepe was very good -- the chef clearly knows what he's doing. Unfortunately, no one else here does.

2 stars for now for their dry a## pancakes!! Yes, I know.. My fault for getting pancakes when their specialty is Crepes. However, if your Crepes are perfect as everyone is saying - I have same expectations on your pancakes. So dry that not even the fresh bananas and Blueberries saved them! I'll update the rating when I come back for the Crepes.

Maybe I should have tried the crepes... Instead I got the Oeuf Columbus - poached eggs in ratatouille. My eggs weren't really poached, and there was an absurd amount of bay leaf in the the ratatouille. it's all overpriced.

The decor is a tad lacking - it was a pretty simple, bare minimum, diner style design. I decided to make my own crepe, which I think is a great option, and I included nutella, white chocolate, and bananas. YUM! My friend got the chicken, basil cream, spinach, and mushroom crepe, which I took a bite of and it was pretty good. It was a very unique blend for a crepe. Bottom line: I'd go again if I happened to be in the neighborhood, but with the lack of decor, I don't think I would go out of my way to return.

This was my second time back!! Took Uber all the way from the World Stages on 50th just to have the Ham & Cheese Crepe again. Soooo worth the ride. Great location next to Columbia University with a cool vibe! I'll be back next time in NYC.

Good, but not great. Well, at least my crepe. My friend's crepe was better and I would've ordered that combo too but I hate having the same plate at the table, especially when there's only two of us. The food was fresh though and the service good, except for...(this is a long story). So I ordered a cup of tea and instead of the waitress bringing it over, the busboy did. That's not a problem normally EXCEPT he had the opened teabag in his dutty hands AND then he placed it on the tabletop. Those aren't mis-types. I'm seldom speechless, but that took the cake. It was one of those moments, like when Dave Chapelle talks about those moments when something racist comes out of nowhere and you're lilke, "Hold up...that did really just happen?" Yeah busboy, you really just did that. I would say that as soon as my friend called the excellent waitress over, she saw the dilemma before I even said much. She got a fat cash money tip for that. So why 4 stars? Well, we were greedy and ordered some French Toast after the crepes and it was about the third best I've ever had (maybe even second best). So, CoC redeemed itself...but get rid of that busboy/delivery dude (who I saw twice more in the neighborhood before the day was through).

First off, the waitress's service was the equivalent of 3 "good" waiters in a 4 star restaurant. She was amazing and attentive. I went here with my mother and brother for a good bye lunch since my brother was headed back to school in a couple hours. We really wanted to cherish our last moments but we didn't have a lot of time to go too far from our moms house so we picked this place thanks to Yelp help. The block on which this place is located is currently under construction so its not very appealing to the eye at first, you are even hesitant to go in because the windows are half sealed with tape still but we went in and took a chance. We were greeted, seated and served. The waitress wasn't pushy at all and she allowed us to take our time. They have a pretty extensive menu for a crepe joint. I ordered the Salmon and Ratatouille crepe. I give that particular dish 2 stars. I wasn't crazy about the flavor of the fish. My brother ordered the Bacon and Avocado crepe which is what I should have ordered. The servings are BIG so you can possibly split a plate with another person. My mom finally ordered the Roasted turkey and Goat cheese but asked if the salad could be replaced with a simple tomato salad instead. Her salad was sooo good, amazing how one can create a recipe with a few simple ingredients. I think it had basil bits in it in a light vinaigrette. Yum. We ended the afternoon with a glass of wine each and all in all we spent like $75 for all the food, a shake, and the wine, with tip included. Not bad at all. Will definitely return . I hope they have outdoor seating at some point!

This place is just wonderful. The service is friendly, the wait is never too long and the food is always fresh and delicious! Any of the crepes with chocolate are amazing. Even in winter the fresh fruit (in a parfait, crepe or fruit bowl) is outstanding. I can't wait to go back to this solid neighborhood spot.

Really delicious savory crepe, chicken and mango yum! The dessert crepes are good as well, I used a Groupon both times I went here so I thought the prices were pretty reasonable. Service is a bit slow but I would go again, even without a Groupon.

This is based on my most recent experience on January 6th. When I arrived I informed the hostess/server that I had 20 minutes to eat. Instead of informing me that a large party had just ordered, she said OK sat us and took our orders. The latte I ordered was more like a bad cafe au lait. I actually told my fiancé that it tasted like his cafe con leche, and sure enough I looked and noticed the used Bustelo. The latte was FOUR DOLLARS. Finally the food comes out but it's for this large party. It's now 20 minutes. I politely ask the server to make our order to go. I spent about $35 on two crepes, a coffee and latte. My fiancé said his was terrible, mine was OK. The food was lacking in salt and general flavor.

I won't take one star away for them not refilling my coffee as often as I would like. I will take this sacrifice for $1.50 coffee. Where else can you find coffee this cheap in Manhattan? I can't believe some other reviewers consider this place overpriced. I thought exactly the opposite. We managed to beat the line that started to form around 11 am on Saturday. Both our breakfast entrees were splendid and under $10 each. One of the poached eggs in my Columbus Oeuf was undercooked, the white was runny, but again, I will forgive them for the overall good experience. It was very warm inside and that made it instantly cozy on a 45-degree early afternoon. Huge selection of crepes just like the name of the restaurant says (although plenty of other non-crepe items as well) and our choice of apple-raisin-almond crepe was delicious and plenty to split for two people as dessert. Great place for breakfast/brunch.

This is one of our favorite places to go in the city for good food, healthy food, for a good price. My favorite dish is the Savory crepe with ratatouille and goat cheese- really fresh ingredients. The salad that comes on the side is a small collection of real mixed greens (not iceberg) and some special dressing that is killer good. Then for dessert we top off with a nutella + fruit crepe. Always great! The owner is as sweet as can be, and it's great to see a new neighborhood place that isn't a chain.

Crepes on Columbus is a pretty good brunch spot. It's a cute little spot in a decent neighborhood. I love sweet crepes. And that's the only thing I've tried here. They are good. I can't complain. However, service can be a bit more attentive.

I stand by my most recent review. Brunch here is a disaster. It's so much more worth it to come for dinner, when there are fewer people around. The crepes are truly some of the best in the city. They are hefty, too!

I have been here twice. Once I walked in for a coffee to-go. Good coffee, took about 5 minutes for the staff to find lids... I chalked it up to they are not a take out place and thought I would return for food.... MISTAKE. I went in on a Wednesday morning with a couple of pals. There were only three other tables (out of 15-ish) sat. The whole "simple crepe" brunch took almost 2 hours!!!! The staff never placed our order with the chef, the order was wrong, the drinks weren't refilled and then the crepes were rubbery and cold. The fillings tasted like plastic (had the mushroom and goat cheese and the cheese wasn't melted! When we very politely complained to the waitress that the crepe wasn't warmed through. She just said, "That is the way they do it in France. This is a REAL crepe" and walked off!!!! I was a restaurant cook for about 2 years in college and yes, have eaten crepes in France, and NO cold rubbery food is NOT a real Crepe! Also this is STREET FOOD in most of the world and a QUICK BITE to eat not a 90-minute trial of errors! (oh yeah, the cream for our coffee was spoiled!) Don't risk your health.

Great crepes!!! And great service!!! They brought me the wrong crepe and, even before I could say anything, the waitress told me that was for free, and mine was coming a little later. She apologized about that but she offered us that free crepe. Wow.

I was prepared not to like it since I read many negative reviews. Thought the service was nice. It wasn't that crowded when we went though. I ordered the chicken, bail creme, spinach savory crepe. I liked it. Could have used more basil creme since it waskinda dry for me bbut I thought it was probably healthier. My friend had the French toast and dessert crepe. He like them. Though nothing earth shattering. All theitems were made fresh. Note, the place was not crowded.

Unusually rude behavior of a restaurant staff: There was a line out the door (whick is ok), and we decided to wait. Somebody else comes up behind us, complains to the host about the fact that there was a line, and immediately gets seated. I mentioned it to another employee as they were being seated, but he just shrugged. I was fuming! We got there first and had been waiting in the cold! I told the host that I will not be eating there because of his inconsiderate actions, and left. Jan 1 2013

My girlfriend and I came here one night and split the tiger shrimp crepe, along with one with Belgian dark chocolate, apples, and creme. The shrimp one was good, while the sweet was amazing. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area and in the mood for crepes

I came here with a friend while I was visiting because this place was the talk of the town. I ordered a breakfast crepe and it was alright. The side salad had too much arugula and the vinaigrette wasn't even visible but the potatoes were delish! That's probably the only thing. I imagined with such a strong venue name they'd have crepes galore. Nope. Not much variety at all. Would I visit again? Probably just with my friends but to go out of my way to show someone else ? Probably not.

Had an amazing Sunday brunch here today. The place is small, but it's cozy and warm and you're in full view of the guy making the crepes who is a friggin machine. My breakfast crepe was delicious, and unsure of what topping combo to choose the server had great recommendations. My only advice would be to incorporate the basil cream WHEREVER YOU CAN. It is mysteriously amazing and I can't imagine it being a wrong move on anything. I loathe dry potatoes and usually don't eat them, but the ones here were moist and well seasoned and I made room for them even after I had crushed my crepe. Sunday brunch lines usually make me suicidal but my "15 minute wait" took about 3 and I might come back just for that reason. Absolutely affordable and delicious. Yum.

Seriously, I've had better crepes at the mall. With each passing day, I question whether New Yorkers *know* food. While they might eat it, I can't imagine anyone who has experienced phenomenal food would rate this place above a 3, and 3 is being generous. The crepes I'm used to are light and a little bouncy (I suppose from the egg), these crepes, on the other hand, remind me of of Indian roti skin, i.e., heavier/denser. And I haven't even discussed the filling. I ordered two crepes. One w/ mushrooms, goat cheese and caramelized onions. I looooooove caramelized onions. I love caramelized onions paired with goat cheese. Seriously, I buy goat cheese to eat it w/ caramelized onions and crackers. These caramelized onions however were far too sweet. It took over the goat cheese and mushrooms , if I could guess the ratio of sugar to onions, I'd say 1.5:1. The second crepe was a simple crepe with strawberries, bananas and nutella. Maybe it's was the thickness of the crepe locking in the heat, but I swear the strawberries were soft and mushy almost as if they were cooked.

The person who mentioned the "dense air quality" here was right. When we emerged from Crepes on Columbus, my hair had the light, musty smell of meat and burnt nutella. Only my boyfriend liked it. I. Service We were hoping the place would be empty around 3:30pm on a Sunday but it was still bustling. The hostess seemed like she had no idea what was going on -- frazzled, panicked, frenzied -- and she bypassed us about 5 times before I stopped her and asked if we could put our name down. She did. And then she glanced at me and said, "Well, you can sit down now..." What?! The 1 star off is for the service here -- the food came slowly as well/was disorganized. But that's where my complaints stop. II. Smoked Salmon, Ratatouille, Egg, Scallion & Basil Creme - Please get this. I don't even like ratatouille and this was amazing. They give you an amazing serving of salmon so don't be afraid that you'll only be eating creme and crepe. Salmon falls apart wonderfully and the creme is an excellent partner for the fish. III. Chicken and mango pepper sauce - YUM! The perfect counterpart to our smoked salmon! It was the perfect combo between sweet and salty, and you'll find whole slices of mango in it. Highly recommended. IV. Nutella, Bananas and Strawberry - Ask them to bring you the sweet crepes after you're done with your savory crepes! SOOOO good. The perfect temperature, consistency and ratio of nutella:banana:strawberry (VERY IMPORTANT). There are a ton of other sweet options, too. But if that doesn't tickle your fancy, you can make your own combo (like the dark chocolate, pb and banana combo I read here earlier)... Heaven.

The crepes are worth it here. It gets a little crowded on the weekend but nothing a short wait can't handle. The only downside is the atmosphere feels a little bit suburban-mall-ish. Beyond that, the crepes are crispy and delicate enough.

Crepes on columbus is overpriced and there is always a wait. However, I consistantly return for their Oeuf Columbus. On wonderfully cooked ratatoille, they place a potato and goat cheese cake (a thick latke) and two poached eggs. The cake is to die for. Not being much of a fan of poached eggs, I always ask for two cakes and they happily oblige. I always wished the ratatoille be on a crepe, but that may be carbo overload for even me. They also have build your own crepe options and non-crepe items. Everything is normal sized portions, it can get you full and are well made. Nothing mind blowing, in my opinion, besides the aforementioned Oeuf Columbus. However, if you even have a small party, expect to wait on the weekend. There is a quick turn around but also a long line. With free wifi, a TV, and a nice wait staff, a less busy weekday would be the perfect study/work location - too bad everyone doesnt have the schedule of a student.

It was a not very busy Tuesday. I was in the area wanting lunch, and had been meaning to try Crepes on Columbus. I didn't necessarily want crepes, but the menu posted outside included some interesting eggs dishes, and they confirmed that they serve eggs all day. They specialize in savory crepe dishes, as well as sweet ones, but also eggs and omelets, pancakes and French toast, salads and sandwiches--hard not to find something you want. My choice of Oeufs Columbus was a success! Two eggs, perfectly poached, on a layer of excellent ratatouille and accompanied by a slice of goat cheese potato pancake. The pancake was wonderful--crisp and crunchy outside, hot and tasty inside, and oozing goat cheese toward the center. Service is friendly and efficient, the food well prepared and presented and ambience relaxed and pleasant.

Bought a groupon deal..and i wish i brought my co-worker along..because finishing $30 worth of food was difficult when you have no appetite...lol.. I came here after work..and when i got there...the restaurant was pretty empty. I sat down and went through the menu. I ended up with Salmon steak, Nutella, strawberry, banana, and vanilla ice cream crepe and a red mango smoothie. It took a while for my food to arrive, but the wait was well worth it. My salmon steak was delicious with spinach and rice. But just a personal reference, i wished it wasnt so cooked, it kinda loses its oily fattiness..XD They also gave me bread which was soo good..i ate it all..XD then came my crepe..by the time dessert came...i was full! But i stuffed it down anyways. The crepe was really good...the pancake part was soft and just right.. Thanks to groupon for introducing me to this place~~

Haven't been back inside for a while so maybe this changed but I hate the atmosphere of this place - feels kinda cheap and hot and smells like cooking oil. I don't really eat here anymore but I do order often enough (even though any crepe that you don't eat right away gets exponentially less delicious with each adding minute it's still yummy) because its delicious. LOVE the potatos that comes on the side. Not traditional or authentic tasting to me after having spent time in Brittany where we ate crepes basically 3 meals a day but its just plain good food. Seems like very good quality ingredients and quick delivery service. Nothing like it in the area at this price point. I'm a fan.

I really can't think of a tastier option when you want a crepes fix. We went in for an early dinner, were immediately seated, and promptly ordered a dual of the savory crepes: the smoked salmon with ratatouille, scallions, egg and basil creme fraiche and the roasted turkey with ratatouille and goat cheese. Both were delicious and a generous portion! Although I enjoy traditional crepes, these are made with buckwheat and are heartier than most. We splurged on dessert: nutella, walnuts and strawberries with whip cream- yum! The perfect meal for a chilly winter day, especially when combined with the excellent service. Way to end a Sunday Funday!

The nutella and banana crepe was yummy, but I could make a yummy crepe with ______________ (fill in the blank) and nutella... However, the coffee was lousy. I asked for a caffè macchiato and the girl asked me if I said a cafe mocha. I, very quickly, said no and asked for an espresso. Then the young man behind the counter brought out my girlfriend's coffee and began to make mind (as I shook my head). So, I asked him if he could just add a "splash" of steamed milk. Fast forward two minutes and he walks out with my drink (since I don't even know what to call it). It looked like an American coffee in an espresso cup and tasted even worse... Also, it was a tad overpriced for a little crepe place in the area. Will not be back, but thank you. :)

The food is tasty and would get 3 stars but the place get's 2 because it gets really hot and smoky to the point that it's really hard to breathe. Crepes on Columbus is a cute little establishment. I've passed by it on several occasions and have always thought about trying it. After seeing a Groupon offer, it was just meant to be. I came here for late lunch with my bf on a Monday afternoon and we were the only ones there. I ordered a savory crepe with smoked salmon and basil cream. It was seriously out of this world amazing. My bf, who attests crepes and anything creamy, was also in love. I am definitely coming back for the food, and the service was just the cherry on top!

I love savory crepes. I had been here a couple times, so when they offered a groupon, I was all over it. I recently went for for brunch and it was delicious. I was a little aggressive with my ordering. We had a $30 groupon, so we ordered a stack of pancakes and two savory crepes. Needless to say, we didn't come close to finishing. We had a full crepe leftover and ate it the next day for breakfast. Portions were huge and friendly service. The place does get crowded, so we had to wait a 10 minutes for the table. It is nothing special in terms of decor but it is clean and well lit. Worth checking out for a big brunch.

The goat cheese, caramelized onion and mushroom crepe was the perfect combination of savory melt in your mouth ingredients. The nutella, strawberry and banana crepe was decadent and delicious (though we would have preferred them being more generous with the nutella). The egg plate was disappointing and not their specialty. Food 5 stars service and other customers 4 stars

The thing that stood out the most here: bad service, like really really really bad service. The WORST I've ever had. Granted we were here on a busy Sunday brunch time. But, when we were seated, it took them 10 min to acknowledge us, with no water on the table, no utensils either. We had to ask for water twice before it was brought out ( please sir... some water). I ordered a sweet crepe that did not come with any sides, so I asked if I could have potatoes on the side. You would think I grew a second head from the way the waiter reacted from my question, it took him a long time to realize what I was asking. (" no you can't have potatoes with your crepe".... but I will pay extra!.... "no it doesn't come with potatoes" ). Our utensils were also supplied to us AFTER our crepes arrived on the table. The dining room area also gets very smoky, to the point where it is noticeably smelly. I've also noticed the lingering smell on my clothing for the rest of the day. Not pleasant. The crepes however, were excellent. I had the raisin, almond and apple crepe. They cook all of the fillings with the crepes, so I was pleasantly surprised by my melted sweet apple filling. However my boyfriend did not enjoy finding his smoked salmon crepe cooked through. I would give Crepes on Columbus a second chance, I think it might have been a bad service day for them.

Crepes are great here, the make your own makes it amazingly perfect. Wife had a smoked salmon, onion, cheese crepe and was HAPPY as PIE. They amount of salmon was huge, and tasty. I had the proshuto (sp?) sandwich and it was so tasty, the bread, meats cheeses here are just stellar. I would totally recommend, 5 star stuff, and pretty reasonable. Small place, get there early, or late. Great service, chill atmosphere, couples - traditional and gay welcome! lol.

Lets just say that the food is is pretty good and it's a nice place to have a morning breakfast in the UWS. I totally recommend getting a quiche...I had a friend who live in france for quite some time say that the quiche there is pretty decent!

Nice soft French Toast with perfect sweetness of syrup. Cutting into the F. Toast was like cutting into butter, in addition, the taste was simply savory. A must go. Especially for Brunch! Btw. the OJ is solid!

We try to support local restaurants and have eaten here several times a year until this year. The other night while dining here with my family, a baby cockroach was running around the table. Fortunately my young son did not notice. Also we had tried to eat here several times since the spring but a sign has been taped to the door every time requesting cash only, credit card machine broken. I can only assume credit card suppression if they haven't been able to fix their machine since the spring. It wasn't working the other night either. The food is ok with generous portions. I have lived in a NY apartment for 20 years and have never had cockroaches in our apartment so it can't be that hard to manage. Baby roaches imply something I don't want to think about.

Kind of a pain coming up here for good crepes without total pretentiousness but they are well worth the journey. It's hard to find a place that specializes in crepes without it coming from a street fair or at a tiny hole in the wall without much seating. Well there's lots of seating here so you won't have to walk and eat some of the tastiest crepes in NYC. The menu is pretty extensive and they offer more than just crepes for the people that tend to lean towards the typical standards rather than the Euro side of things. These crepes are pretty light and for a big eater like me that usually means that I have to order a little more than the average person. I did the bacon and avocado crepes which was pretty amazing but left me hungry for more. One flip of the menu and I was building my own dessert crepe with milk chocolate, nutella, and coconut. It was crazy good! Lot of people object to any areas that are at or near Harlem but they really need to get over it. Some of the best eats can be found way uptown and you are really missing out if you don't broaden your horizons. I'm sure there are some crepe eating, delicate types are deathly afraid of getting mugged at every turn in this city so this place is not likely to be on their checklist. Big mistake. This place is a real gem.

Not sure what all the fuss is over this place. Came here for saturday brunch. Food was decent, but didn't walk out thinking that I had found my new favorite brunch spot. I suppose in the relative food desert of morningside heights, this is an oasis of decent food.

I absolutely love this place. We've been blown away by everything we have ordered thus far. My wife and I typically walk from our home on 132nd St. to the restaurant and back almost as a ritual on most weekends. We are big fans of the following: - the tiger shrimp crepe - the smoked salmon crepe - the chocolate lovers crepe that we request with Nutella, Belgium Milk Chocolate, Creme Fresh, and Strawberries - the red mango smoothy From time to time I also get the scrambled eggs, pancakes, and home fries and then split the chocolate lovers crepe.

In NY over the weekend and 9 of us wanted neat place to grab lunch. Crepes on Columbus delivered. The place is pretty small and we had to wait 20 minutes for enough people to leave so they could clear an area to accommodate us, which they did. With the exception of 2 people everyone in our group got a variety of crepes - both sweet and savory. The non-crepe meals were french toast and a salad. Everyone enjoyed their meals and spoke highly of the food for how simplistic it is. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. Service was no-nonsense but wasn't unpleasant and was fairly attentive. Only complaint would be that the restaurant is so small you feel a bit crammed in and it seems there's almost always a wait since seating is so limited. We all commented how great it would be if someone opened a place like this in our part of Pennsylvania.

...my latest discovery as of this evening: They make their hot cocoa with real milk! No water! Generous amounts of whipped cream included! The 5 year old in me squealed with glee at this!

Went here last night with a LivingSocial deal. We got there a bit before 9, so I wasn't surprised the place wasn't that crowded. Given the surrounding neighborhood, the creperie seems a bit out of place once you're inside. It's modern, kind of hip, and very clean. The menu boasts much more than crepes, but that's what we went for. I got a breakfast crepe, and my friend got one of the regular savory crepes. I was pleased to see mine plated with a small side salad and some roasted potatoes. It was a nice way to round out the meal, though not so traditional for a creperie. We decided to split the Nutella, banana, and strawberry crepe and the waiter even brought it out on two plates! It. was. awesome. They actually cooked the bananas and strawberries and used them as fillings, rather than just putting them on top. Loved it! The whole place seemed to be being run by two guys.....the chef and the waiter! Granted, it was late on a weeknight and pretty slow, but I was still impressed. When we presented our LivingSocial deal at the end of the meal, we got a "sure! no problem!" rather than the sighing, eye-rolling rudeness that most businesses tend to give when presented with a voucher. Our total was $29.59, which was just under the $30 we were supposed to spend, but they said it was okay! We definitely left a generous tip. I really enjoyed my meal at Crepes on Columbus, and loved the atmosphere. Honestly though, I probably won't be back anytime soon, because it is just simply too far from my neighborhood. Glad I went with the deal though!

I got the goat cheese and ratatouille, and asked for it to have mushrooms too, which they did with no problem. It was delicious--a very good ratatouille, great cheese, everything. The little salad it comes with (nothing special) is already dressed, so ask for dressing on the side if you need it. I had a dessert crepe of milk chocolate, strawberries, and walnuts, and it was wonderful too. Definitely don't get the crepe with chocolate syrup, that's just a gross idea--go for the make-your-own chocolate crepe where they use actual melted real chocolate. The strawberries were cooked perfectly. I went for an early-ish lunch, 11 AM, and service was as prompt as can be expected with food cooked to order. It's a very small place, so I'm sure it gets super crowded during busier hours. I really don't understand people complaining about the neighborhood. It's just a regular neighborhood, it's not run-down or dangerous or anything. And it's pretty nice to have a place that's close to me rather than 20-30 blocks south. Also, it's not hard to find. I'm not sure what kind of problems people are having, but if you go to, you know, where it is (Columbus btwn 108-109th), I promise it'll be right there.

Went on a Friday morning. Nice and quiet, we had the place pretty much to ourselves. I had a make your own crepe, smoked salmon, cream cheese, basil creme, it was decadent overkill and delicious. He had bacon, avocado, jalapeno, a much less rich grouping but still delicious. The service was a bit uneven but the food was delicious.

Was in a hurry on Thursday we had 20 minutes to sit and eat and we asked the waitress if she could accommodate this request before we sat down. She said of course, crepes cook very quickly. We sit down we order within a minute of sitting. 10 minutes later she says the chef had to serve a large party in front of us so it would be a few minutes more. Did you not ask the chef this when we entered??? Any way I got the salmon. egg & cream cheese crepe my fiance got the salmon and mushroom. Farm raised salmon should not be used in commercial establishments that charge more tan 10 for a plate of food. It does not have that authentic wild fishy taste that is an actual flavor and since no salt was used, the fish was bland as hell. The wheat crepe was thick and was more of a wrap than a real crepe. The home fries are cut and prepared well but again not a trace of salt to extract any flavor. My biggest issue was that we had to finally take the order to go and have to assure you if we had been sitting in the dining room that salmon would have gone back for something else. I have to say that with the cost of entrees nowadays restaurants need to start caring more about the final product and the wait staff needs to know whether they can actually accommodate the customers request not lure them in and then fess up 18 minutes later.

We'd read about this place on yelp, so we figured we'd stop in. So glad we did! This past Saturday. We were in a rush so we ordered to go, but sat down at an empty table in a corner. One of the waiters brought us each a glass of ice water, even after we repeated we were take out (didn't want to take advantage). So that was really nice since we were sweating from the warm day. Ordered the turkey, ratatouille and goat cheese savory crepe - which was A. MAZE. ING. i'm a big goat cheese fan but it was well made besides that. My only gripe is that it could have been a little bigger, more full for the price. But it still was great. We also had the lemon and sugar crepe - i was surprised by how delicious and simple it was. definitely a re-order!

Crepes are little pillows stuffed with different versions of love. Each crepe is special in it's own right & Crepes on Columbus seems to fully understand this concept. We came in on the evening of the most recent heatwave. There was only one other couple seated in the restaurant. The waitress was polite, and the food came out promptly. My guy ordered the grilled chicken, basil creme, spinach, and mushroom crepe while I opted for a sweet crepe with Belgian milk chocolate, marshmallow, and strawberries. Both were freaking delicious! This will definitely be a regular spot for me. You get two medium sized crepes with each order. 2 crepe dishes, 1 beer, and 1 glass of house wine for $30. Yeah, those are the kind of numbers that I like. Some people call the neighborhood "sketchy". To those people, I say take a walk around Hunts Point @ 3 in the morning and then redefine your meaning of "sketchy". Until then, quit your whining...it's practically down the block from Columbia, not in a freaking war zone.

Yummy yummy yummy I've got Crepes on Columbus in my tummy! I can't attest to the crepes- I had the pesto mozzarella chicken sandwich with mescaline greens and a taste of kidney bean soup. Everything was delicious. The place was clean, the price was right, and the service was warm and fuzzy. I'll be back. Oh yes, I'll be back

I went here for a girls lunch gathering, and found the buy 1 get one free offer on tenka (via Yelp). Excited to use it! Upon arrival, we were informed that the deal was only good for 1 per table (ok, this is standard and fair enough). All 5 of us ordered entree crepes that ranged from $11 - $12.50. We then ordered 2 dessert crepes at $6.75 each to share and were told that our dessert crepe was the one that would be free. So, if we had just ordered entreees, our discount would have been off of the more expensive entree rather than the dessert. Ok --- so in all my experiences in food, retail, etc. the free one is the one that is equal or most similar in value to the most expensive. Instead, we were getting LESS of a discount for ordering MORE! I felt like this was a cool deal gone bad and just felt jipped of the measley 5 bucks. It's the principle, man! Oh...my order also got messed up, so I got my food after my friends were almost done with theirs. That was a bummer too. The crepes were decent enough. I had the crepe with the goat cheese, mushrooms and caramelized onions. The only thing I have to say about that is that the caramelized onions are not caramelized - they are sauteed at best. I wanted to like this place - especially because one of us girls is a vegetarian and we are always looking for restaurants that have a variety of veggie options, but this deal gone wrong left a bad taste in my mouth.

We were looking for another breakfast choice in the Morningside Heights area and came across Crepes on Columbus on Yelp (not in Morningside Heights, but close enough). I wasn't too sure what to expect, based on some of the iffy revues but we were game to try. Anyway, we went on a Sunday at 10am and only had to wait about 10minutes. KF and I had crepes with smoked salmon (big chunks!), cheese, and tomatoes (me) and spinach (KF). My mom-in-law had a vegetarian version with onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms. The crepes come with a small side salad (just greens, a slice of tomato and a really good vinaigrette), and lightly sautéed red potatoes. Everything was really good, though the potatoes came out at room temperature instead of being hot. I had a really good (big) cappuccino and KF had regular coffee. He had to ask for coffee refills, but he got them even though it was super busy. WE would definitely go back. It's not the BEST crepe I've ever had, but they were definitely good and worth eating again. Good prices, too.

If this place wasn't so far up on the west side I'd probably be going here every other week for brunch, lunch or dinner and no doubt probably gaining a few extra pounds with each meal. Tried this spot on Memorial day for brunch with a group of about 10 people and the staff was very very very accommodating pushing tables together and rearranging chairs so our whole group wouldn't be split apart. Everything everyone ordered looked and smelled delicious. A friend also ordered the orange cream shake which tasted just like an orange creamsicle. What I had was the tiger shrimp, spinach, black bean paste and basil creme fralache crepe. It may sound a bit heavy for breakfast, but hey, it was a holiday so why not indulge. And indulge I did. If savory can be summed up in a bite one bite of this goodness would do it. Every bite caused an explosion in my mouth as I happily did my happy food dance at the table.

This pregnant girl woke up one day with a craving for crepes. This girl's boyfriend taunted her by reminding her that he keeps asking her to go to Crepes on Columbus for months. So boots and various down jackets were piled on and an excursion through mounds of grey stained snow and slush commenced. Upon reaching the block that Crepes on Columbus was rumored to be located on, scaffolding and boarded up walls covered the store fronts. If a Yelped screams "NOOOOOOOOO" in the snow .... does anyone hear? Apparently the culinary gods did. In the middle of all the construction and nonsense, a little passageway led to the most delicious crepes known to man. A variety of delicious savory crepes for that lunch time tummy rumbling, followed by devilishly decadent sweet crepes to quell all the cravings. The staff was extremely friendly and pleasant. The crepes were cooked to perfection and the variety available was impressive. The crepes were neither under nor over filled. And yes, there is such thing as too much Nutella and whipped creap in a crepe.

I can NOT believe how awful the service was... we waited a good 15 minutes to be seated... which is fine... Sunday brunch I didn't expect anything less. We waited a good 15 minutes before we were able to wave someone down to even get us water... and placed our order. No utensils were at the table until we asked for them, salt, pepper, sugar nothing. We were seated by the door and one of the waiters propped it wide open. I asked if it was okay if i shut it because i was sitting right next to it and he responded that it was stuffy... And i understand that it might be stuffy in the back or behind the counter.. but people who weren't in front of the door were also putting their coats back on... he proceeded to argue with me and finally i said "fine you know what i'll just eat with my coat on" and he shut it and walked away. I wouldn't have made such a big deal about it if the other people seated near us weren't also visibly chilly. I'm not that selfish. The food was disgusting... Might be my fault I shouldn't have ordered anything that was not crepes at a crepe place. I ordered the french toast with bacon and eggs. Eggs were gross. Bacon was BURNT not crispy burnt. I wish they made it clear that the french toast was on baguettes because I wouldn't have ordered it. It was impossible to cut and so hard to chew from the crust that I only ate two pieces before i just got tired of it. waited a good 15 minutes for the check we asked for.I went home and had yogurt. Judging by the ratings hopefully this was a fluke. I was really disappointed considering the rankings and the fact that it was crowded. I don't think i'll give them another chance.

Price: About $15 including tip What is good here? Everything. Taste of home. Decor: Homey Great for groups up to 6 people, great for families, great for breakfast, lunch, brunch and a casual dinner. Service and food are consistently good. These are the best crepes I have tasted in the city. I do prefer the savory crepes and have tried almost all of them as I used to come here at least once a week - repeats include the ham, egg and swiss cheese and bacon, avocado and sour cream. The owner is always around and he is quite friendly and great and will sit with you while you eat and will serve you himself sometimes. Hot chocolate is so homey. The soups are great as well - love the red kidney bean. Love this place.

I had a very pleasant experience at Crepes on Columbus. Unlike several other reviewers, my service was quite good. Granted there were only a few other people there when I went around lunchtime on a Tuesday, but nonetheless I was greeted immediately, brought a glass of water, conversed with and served my food in a timely fashion. The food itself was delicious - I ordered the goat cheese & ratatouille crepe. Both the crepe and ratatouille were very light and tender, the goat cheese creamy, fresh and flavorful. The side of mesclun salad with balsamic dressing was nothing special. The coffee was mediocre. My bill was $12. I'd come back.

I've visited this restaurant twice for breakfast while visiting New York. Both times, I ordered a breakfast crepe with smoked salmon, spinach, and goat cheese...it is so good! The crepes are thin and a little crispy around the edges, and the filling ingredients are freshly prepared. It came with coins of roasted potatoes and lightly dressed spring greens. All in all, a delicious meal! The first time I came, it was early on a weekday morning; I may have been the only person there. The second time was moderately early on a weekend morning; I luckily didn't have to wait for a table. A few parties arriving minutes after me were met with a wait, and as the tables filled up, my service slowed. However, I was a single diner with no time constraints, so no complaints here!

After a little almost 2 hours of wandering in Central Park enjoying spring in full bloom and taking in the gorgeous views we headed uptown to Crepes on Columbus to get our sweet-fix! First thing, this place was difficult to find! There isn't very good signage and the area isn't too appealing. I wish this place was 10-20 blocks further south! Regardless, it's adorable and the crepes were AWESOME! Gluttonous as we are, we each ordered one! I ate *almost* the entire thing. You can choose any three fillings and I chose nutella, marshmallows, and strawberries. YUMMMM!!! It's a little out of the way but I would highly recommend checking out Crepes on Columbus for sweet (or savory!) crepes. They also have a variety of other items on the menu that make this place a cute weeknight date spot! Great service too! Be Happy NYC! behappynyc.com

I don't understand how this place has 4 stars. I came here with my boyfriend. The ambience is nothing -- it feels like a cafeteria. Maybe 10 years ago this was "modern" but now it's just "dismal and industrial." I had the chocolate lover's crepe because that was one of the only options under $10. When it came, the chocolate on top was good, the crepe was unremarkable slash fine, and the bananas were edible, but the "cinnamon apples" inside were DEFINITELY from a can. Each apple slice was surrounded by a half-inch-thick layer of grainy mush. The coffee was inoffensive. This all would have earned three-ish stars, but then my boyfriend's steak and eggs came and... well, let's just say if I hadn't been a vegetarian before I might have turned vegetarian upon seeing it. It was like a prop in a movie scene where an inept mother-substitute figure cooks dinner and does a terrible job (think Mrs. Doubtfire). It was grayish in color, lumpy, and soggy-looking without being in the least juicy; it had big pouches of unappetizing fat at the edges; and it had been broiled, not grilled. I asked what it tasted like after he'd choked down a few bites. "It was dry, and... tendon-y," he said, and then was too grossed out to go any further. I recommend that you stick with the real cheap options here -- nothing that requires freshness or quality ingredients. Or just, you know, don't go.

There's a reason why this restaurant has an average of 4 stars, and it's because the food here is absolutely yummy, even after experiencing the famed Juliet de Chocolat of Montreal ( julietteetchocolat.com/c… ). I have been here many a times, and the food never fails me (although I think the portions have gotten a bit smaller...grrrr, inflation!). My go-to dish is the ratatouille with goat cheese (sometimes with turkey, depending on my mood). Absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of ratatouille, but I think the cheese really makes this dish, even though I'm not a huge goat cheese person! Usually, the savory crepe is accompanied by a sweet crepe (the favorites being the caramel with mandarin orange slices and creme fraiche, and the saute apple, almond, golden raisin and creme fraiche). SO. SO GOOD. Just the right ratio of filling:doughy part (outside layer). In terms of portion sizes, I usually split a savory and sweet crepe with my boyfriend, and we're usually pretty satisfied (not our usual food comatose state, but very content, nonetheless). Echoing Karina L.'s review, one star off for the iffy waitstaff. The owner is awesome, but *some* of the people that work there just seem confused (e.g. my name is not "Anjroy" or anything like it).

Delicious crepes. We came here on the eve of Thanksgiving Day and were the only customers in the house when we came in, and the owner made us feel right at home. The caramelised onion crepes = heaven. We also got dessert crepes with banana, dark chocolate and strawberry. Delicious!

Fresh ingredients, flavor, texture, all very very good! Amazing place if you're looking for a good crepe in NY. The service is a bit apathetic, but order a ratatouille and goat cheese or the chicken basil or the simple swiss cheese and ham, and you will forget about it.

Just went bright and early for breakfast with the girlfriend. They let us sit down ~5 minutes before opening (pulled chairs down for us), service was great- very friendly waitress. I ordered an omelette meal, she got crepes, both of us left very satisfied. I've had better breakfasts, but the environment was nice and the price reasonable. Would definitely go back.

Good crepes, bad ish service. I bought a Livingsocial deal here for $15 for $30- that can definitely get you an entire meal. We had no difference. While decor is new and the space is clean (and new) tables are a bit cramped. Busy even at 3pm on a Sat! This is good in a way because you'll never need to wait... to eat. Waiting on your water, coffee, etc. is a different story. The waiters/bus boys are nice but they are SLOW and a little clueless. Anyway, the menu is pretty varied- even if you don't like crepes; there are a few things you can have here: salads, sandwiches, pasta, etc. The sweet crepes look awesome! (sugar, lemon, fruit, chocolate, nutella- all your fave toppings) and were cheap! In the $5-7 range. My bf and I hadn't had breaky yet so we came for the breakfast crepes... *note* PLEASE remember to order your eggs; my bf forgot and alas, got no egg. You can have eggs in your crepe plus 3 toppings for no extra charge. I did: fried egg, goat cheese, spinach, and (pork) sausage. My bf did ham, cheddar and onions.. he forgot the egg :(. The crepes themselves are very thin but crispy in the right places, and not too "eggy" if that makes sense. Very yummy. The breaky crepes come with potatoes- which were good- mostly boiled, not fried. Also came with a salad that had a good balsamic (not very strong) flavor. For drinks, bf got a standard coffee, and I got a skim latte, which wasn't bad but not the best I've ever had (that's City Bakery! o Le Pain :D). We'd come back- the area is a bit out of the way, though.

This little restaurant tucked away in Harlem has wonders to offer. I went here for brunch, which was perfect. Crepes on Columbus serves mainly brunch items, such as eggs, steak and fries, crepes, quiche, etc.. you get the gist... I opted for the caramalized onion, goat cheese and mushroom crepe, which is usually my to go for at any crepe restaurant, it was not a miss, it was delicious, served with a little mesclun salad on the salad. My friend had the steak and eggs with a side of roast potatoes, he was also very satisfied. The restaurant also boasts a long list of sweet/desert crepes, we both opted for the nutella crepe, it was outstanding. I would definitely recommend crepes on Columbus, they can accommodate groups as well as smaller parties.

I was really looking forward to trying this place. I've been dreaming of eating a full breakfast so I ordered the breakfast crepe with mushrooms, goat cheese and bacon. I added scrambled eggs cause I wanted eggs.(I was kindly notified by our waitress that this was exta and asked if I was okay with that? I appreciated the heads up.). It looked delicious, but it was very dry and bland. I thought it might have been my fault for wanting eggs, but in retrospect...I don't think so. I didn't find the crepe itself to be particularly flavorful and the ingredients I requested were just kind of lumped together and not fully integrated/melted. I had such high hopes cause I once had savory crepes in San Fran that knocked my knee hi's off. I am willing to try it again, but I would try something that was a little more moist. Perhaps something like mushroom, onion and a cheese like gruyere. The service was excellent and the coffee was really good too. Waitress was very attentive. I liked the fact that they wear t-shirts that say, "I don't give a crepe." which suits my Manhattan pesona perfectly. Will definitely give this place another chance. We went mid week around 10am. I drive, so there was plenty of muni parking out front, but only by the hour. I hope you give it a try and report back. Just make sure you request moist ingredients. Buon Appetito.

Really yummy crepes, friendly service. The owner is very nice and sometimes waits tables himself. They have lots of food options - salads, sandwiches, breakfast - but I always go with a crepe. My favorite crepe by far is the tiger shrimp crepe with spinach and basil creme fraiche. After that, anything with Nutella! Taking off one star because one time the salad that was supposed to be mixed greens was just chopped romaine. Huge pet peeve of mine that many, many cafes are guilty of.

Came up here for an early Sunday breakfast. The service was very fast and my nutella was pretty good. My friends enjoyed their respective crepes and pancakes as well. While decent I don't think it was worth the trek uptown.

The first time my husband and I ate here, it was because we love crepes and this was the closest creperie to our hotel. We went back again on our honeymoon, and not just because we had a LIvingSocial deal. I've had a lot of strawberry-banana-Nutella crepes over the years, and this was one of the best. The crepe itself was the perfect balance of chewy and crispy, and the fruit was very fresh and flavorful. My husband prefers savory crepes and reports his were fantastic both times. There's a make-your-own option with lots of ingredients from which to choose. The restaurant underwent renovations between our first and second trip and looked nice both before and after. This will definitely be on our must-go list every time we visit New York.

I'd say I'm not giving a fair review because I didn't have crepes. Well, not entirely true since I had a bit of everyone else's crepes while I ate my french toast w/ bacon - but seriously, the reason why I have a bad taste in my mouth after eating here is the service. Upon seating, we waited over 5 minutes to be greeted and have our drink orders. Upon ordering? Another 20-25 minutes before we got our three crepes and one order of french toast. The service is nice, but its slow as snails, especially considering a group next to us got their food before us, even though they arrived AFTER us. But there are positives: pretty decent food (I didn't think any of it was memorable, but the crepes are fairly good, and the french toast is pretty close to awesome (which i believe belongs to Community Food & Juice)), decent prices (under $11 for most things) and a nice neighborhood atmosphere. But other than that, a little less than memorable of an experience here.

What I enjoyed: the ham and swiss cheese dinner crepe. What I didn't enjoy: the wait. For several items. Perhaps this is a place that you should order and take out, but the sit-down experience was not the best I've ever had. Our server was perfectly nice. It just took more time than I would have liked to get simple things like coffee and/or our meal. I've tasted some of Margot G.'s dessert crepes and they are tasty as well. She's even teaching them the European style of "to go" (involves tin foil and some random folding), so I'd suggest this place if you're in the neighborhood and don't mind eating on the go. Prices for the dinner crepes seem about right, but they're a little up there for the dessert crepes (they're practically the same price). So also a suggested splurge rather than a regular stop.

Amazing. Came here with a Groupon and was completely blown away. I came during off hours, and I'm pretty sure the owner was my server. Started off with water and a mimosa. Eh, can't really mess up a mimosa. After reading reviews, I decided to go with the bacon avocado basil creme crepe. Wow. It was savory and flavorful, and I somehow managed to finish the entire thing. For dessert I opted for the nutella, strawberries and almond crepe. Again, my 104-lb self devoured the entire thing, not a morsel left on the plate. The long trek uptown was definitely worth it, and I'm coming back again soon to enjoy more of their creations.

CoC might not be for everyone, but for the aficionado, it's as good as it gets. We're talking about crepes, here. Get your mind out of the gutter. The salmon, ratatouille, scallion, and egg savory crepe is, imho, the star if the show: perfectly balanced, much smokier than you expect, and stays neatly in the crepe so you can cut it with a fork. The breakfast crepes are also amazing; they are a snobby French alternative to the breakfast burrito. Any review would be incomplete without mention of the dessert crepes, and do they ever deliver. I have been known to stop in just for the Nutella and banana crepe (a la mode with vanilla ice cream, plz!) or the standard butter crepe. While I'd absolutely love to give them a 5-star review, there is a snag: the service is abhorrent. I mean, it's just insulting. Dreadful. Awful. I haven't been to a restaurant where they seem to care less and ignore you more than CoC. I've stood for 5 minutes by the door before someone noticed me, waited longer for someone to bring me a menu or take my order. Getting the check? It's just as bad. I know how they get away with it: the food is great. But it's not an excuse. Normally I would dock more than one star for service this bad, but... well, the food is great, as I said. Stop in, get some food, but don't expect the dining "experience." Let your taste buds make the final judgment.

We went here for an early dinner. It was empty when we got there. I ordered the bacon, avocado and sour cream crepe. That was pretty good. Daughter order the Roasted Chicken, basil cream, spinach and mushroom. She liked hers but liked my entree more. Husband ordered the smoked salmon sandwich. He thought it was good but it didn't wow him. Service was friendly and place was very clean. Will return when in the neighborhood.

The crepes were good, but the service was SO BAD that I will probably never eat here again. Despite being told the wait would be only about 20 minutes, we had to wait about an hour to be seated. Then, it took about 15 min. for the waiter to come and take our order and another 45 min. to get the food. That was bad enough, but we noticed that people who had arrived after us were actually being served before us! We asked the waiter about it, and he said that the pancake orders were being served before the crepes. We had ordered crepes. I mean, the name of the restaurant is Crepes On Columbus! I ordered plain fruit crepes, and my friend ordered fruit/nutella crepes. They tasted good, but it was definitely not worth the exceptionally poor service. We will not return.

Had the goat cheese and ratatouille crepe, it was deliciously enough for dinner! Looks like a nice cute place for any time of the day; if only it didn't feel so closed in, because of the few windows they have. Service was friendly.

Can't beat this place! excellent crepes...also had eggs cooked perfectly with great bread, bacon and succulent potatoes.Even the small salad that comes with the eggs had great dressing. awesome coffee as well. Owner was on hand making sure our cup was never empty. I will be a regular here for sure!

Most recently, I went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. It was a grim prospect when, after sitting at a table in this place for 15 minutes without so much as a glance from the one waitress working, 4 out 6 parties around us had nothing on their tables but cups of coffee (if even that) . My boyfriend is more patient then me; I would have just walked out, but around the 20 minute mark, I sought out the waitress to ask if I could possibly order some breakfast. In a few more minutes, hooray, she was at our table. First contact! Now getting to the important stuff, the food. Bottom line is: I would not come here for breakfast unless planning on getting a crepe (logical, right?). This morning, I ordered eggs, toasted bagel, and some smoked salmon on the side. The eggs were predictably average, bagel was appropriately crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside (but not something you can't get anywhere in nyc). The smoked salmon was disgusting actually - it seemed very oily, and surprisingly not salty or flavorful. However, I sampled the lemon and sugar crepe that my boyfriend got and it was definitely tasty. It was the right consistency and thickness. I've also been here a few times for lunch - CoC offers some interesting salad options. Prices are not super cheap, but by nyc standards, not bad at all.

AMAZING. I had a cafe mocha and an egg, cheese and spinach breakfast crepe and was blown away. The prices are affordable and the food delicious. While it's not in a prime location, the food was worth any walk. Please go.

When bf told me were going for crepes for breakfast, I was SOOOOOO excited. I really really really wanted to love this place...but I didn't. We came here on a rainy Saturday morning around 10. Maybe half the tables were taken, so we had no problem getting a table. It is fairly small inside, but cozy and nicely decorated. The service was fine. We ordered a Breakfast Crepe with egg, cheddar, onions, and ham as well as the Turkey Ratoutille with goat cheese crepe. Both were just ok. I didnt really care for the crepe itself. What is that, buckwheat? Not really a fan. Also, I had an issue with the homogeniety of the crepe. You could not really get a taste of all the goodness in one bite. It seemed like one bite had turkey, another was all goat cheese. Same goes for the breakfast crepe. Overall, it was good, but I probably would not make the journey up there just for the crepes again.

  • The Shhhhh... T.

Went back a few times since my original review. Discovered that they can add an ingredient or two to the crepe on the menu (like if you want a certain crepe to come with cheese, mushrooms, etc.), for a dollar or so over the price. For me it's a big plus, because some places don't do that and I end up trying to choose between two or more crepes having _almost_ all ingredients I want. Oh, also many (if not all) crepes are made of buckwheat flour, making it healthier (if you needed another excuse, that is, to go and get yourself a crepe...) Unfortunately, there is some construction going on, and the front of the building, windows and all, is covered by scaffolding. But it's not too difficult to find, it you know the address or cross streets.

Nice clean spot, but maybe a little plain. They have an extensive menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, but I was a little surprised that the crêpes weren't presented front and center. After some tough deliberation, I settled on the goat cheese and ratatouille. It was tasty and filling, but lacked structural integrity. Service was good. I would come back to try some more things, even though on the whole mine was a fairly unremarkable experience.

I love this neighborhood gem. I've been here a few times. So far I have only had their savory breakfast crepes. They are very delicious and are served with a salad and red potatoes. You get to pick your 3 fillings. You choose from eggs, various veggies, and meats. They have a large selection of sweet crepes as well but I have to be in a very specific mood in order to eat anything sweet and I haven't been in that mood anytime I've gone in. This place is so reasonably price it's hard to not come in when I need something fast. The service has been OK. Sometimes we wait several minutes before we are noticed but I don't really mind it. It just adds to the mom and pop feel. I love this place.

Great backup. Never really blows me away but never disappoints either. Standard crepes, lots of fillings, good creative combos on the menu. It's never too crowded so you'll always be seated quickly. It's a bit like a higher-end diner with a big crepe selection. Diner-like prices, too. I like it, but I wouldn't go too far out of my way to go here.

UPDATE: just visited crepes in Columbus again tonight. I'd give it another 5 stars. We picked up the crepes this time and they were still very hot when we got back to our apartment. And they were just as delicious as I remembered from last time. The crepes we had last night were delicious! We ordered a Belgian milk chocolate, banana, and strawberry crepe. We wanted to share so the waiter cut it in half and brought over the crepe on 2 different plates. I was really impressed by this! We weren't even charged extra for it. The one trying we weren't expecting was to be seated. We had thought we'd be able to walk in, order and take it to go. Luckily the service was really fast though. Not more than 5 minutes. Found the prices to be very reasonable and really enjoyed our dessert. We'll be back soon!

giving them 2.5 stars mean...I love a crepe just as much as the next person. actually, I'd been craving one for several days and decided to make this my thin pancake destination since its like...rolling out of bed distance. I place an order for a strawberry, banana, Nutella crepe and it took 30 minutes. how un-American on this day! time issues aside, it's a decent sized crepe, but certainly the most flavorless batter I've ever encountered. tasted like flour, seems like they might want to try adding a little vanilla extract and a teaspoon or two of sugar. maybe a pinch of cinnamon and a tad of nutmeg...but what do I know? oh yeah...FOOD. this was too simple an order to have taken so long AND be so underwhelming. I would recommend that they take the time to cook the bananas until they're just turning a golden brown around the edges with a little butter, and perhaps they should give me the fresh strawberries they mentioned on the menu and not the frozen ones they think are even a close comparison. I can't be fooled. not impressed but not disgusted. just should've done it myself.

My eyes are still irritated from the onions being chopped and sautéed 10 ft away from me in the kitchen. Besides my eyes being severely irritated... I ordered an avocado, spinach, mushroom, and mozzarella crepe. I got a guacamole, spinach, and two thick slices of mozzarella crepe. The crepe was flavorless and mushy, because they gave me guacamole instead of avocado and forgot the mushrooms. Overall, the worse savory crepe I've ever had. The sweet caramel apple crepe was good, but not great. Blah.

Came here with my niece we both never had crepes before and we were in for a treat. We had a groupon deal so we decided to try it. We came on a weekday for lunch. They had many flavors of to chose from we both decided on breakfast crepes. I had eggs and bacon and she had chicken and spinach she doesn't like mushrooms and they were accommodating and changed it for her with no problem. We also got a desert crepe to try as well and we chose to share the apple and caramel one. The service here is a bit slow but that's because the crepes are made to order so we did wait a little while for them to come out. When they did come out they were hot and delicious! Each one came with a side salad. We both enjoyed our meal and the we really enjoyed the desert crepe that one was the most memorable one for me. Overall it was good but not sure if I would return. It was worth a try and I am glad we got to eat something we wouldn't normally have. Get a groupon and try it out!

The place lives up to it's Yelp reputation. Had a chocolate lover's crepe which gives you three choice of fillings for only $9 (including tax). They even substituted bacon with turkey when asked for. Really good experience. Definitely a must-have if you're near the Morningside Heights area.

I used to go here for most of my breakfast, but since I moved. I haven't been back there often. I love their crepes breakfast and French toast. I lower one star down because their onion soup that have a cheese covered was burn and have a very bitter taste. But you can always ask them to be careful with the burnt

Good food, awesome pancakes BUT terrible service. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes for your food and there is a very good chance they will get your order wrong. doesn't matter if there not busy either; you wait forever for you food.

I wish there was a option for no stars cause we waited over an hour for oeuf of Columbus and a classic crepe with Nutella, banana and strawberry that never came. The waiter was unapologetic about the wait and we had I ask twice for water. Overall, there was a low standard of service, efficiency and accountability.

This is a wonderful brunch place and I truly do not understand why this place would only have three and a half stars. It wasn't too crowded so that service was slow, but it was definitely well attended. The waiter was great and always refilled my coffee. I got the Oeuf Columbus which was two poached eggs and a potato latke with goat cheese smeared underneath. It was absolutely delicious and the most unique brunch option I've ever had.

Came here to try out their crepes of course. No disappointments. Borderline UWS/Harlem location. VERY clean, wide variety of dishes to choose from, waitress was hella' nice and the prices were nice and moderate too. Cool restaurant but very plain looking. No character... Had like a Greek diner feel to it but nothing about the menu screamed Greek diner to me. Weird but regardless, the place was good. Food and service was on point. Great crepes and other stuff. I'll be back for sure.

Walked right in with no wait, BUT the place was packed.. We were just lucky. Ambiance was lively, not too loud, but not overly quiet and boring. Sat by the window on a gloomy and rainy day....Setting was perfect. Server was Stephen and he was great. Water and coffee cups stayed full, he checked up on us very often but there was no need. Everything was cool. Steak and eggs for me, Ham/Cheese Crepe for her. Portions were hefty and ever tasty. Romantic little surprise pre-anniversary breakfast was a hit.. Wi-fi a little shady, but then again it just made the company I was with that much better to look at... See ya yelper's... Time to take my beauty home and cuddle!

Most posh crepe place I have been to. The portions are large enough to command the prices and savory options come with a nice small salad on the side. Recommend the salmon--but I very much liked the apples and raisins. I have a sweet tooth. The only problem is that with all the butter, it can get burnt when reheated (leftovers, of course) in a toaster oven. So if you want to get the apples and raisins crepe--you have to eat it there. But if you are bound to have leftovers, go for a savory option. Also the tea mugs give you a luxurious amt of hot water for ~$2. Finally, the service was great and I liked the way the place was laid out + it was nice and warm inside this crepe shop. If I am up there for a Cathedral visit or similar, I would go back!

There are surprisingly few places that serve crepes as the main attraction in Morningside Heights. This place has a vast menu and serves both savory and sweet crepes. The crepes were all done well (I'm a lemon and sugar kind of guy) but it took quite some time for them to get the orders out in a fairly empty restaurant. The wife tried their butternut squash soup which was really poor (it was like baby food mixed with water). Stick to the crepes here. They deliver but they're not the quickest so they can get soggy in transit. If you're going to go, eat in since it's the best way to experience the food.

I don't typically post reviews but I felt I needed to for Crepes on Columbus after my most recent experience. I have been ordering from here for a few years now and have always been happy with their food. Does it sometimes take a while? Occasionally, if you order during the restaurant's prime time. Typically, however, they come within 20 minutes with nice hot food. In the last 3 years I've never had to contact customer service or anything. Last night was different. Something happened through grubhub where my order got lost. After about an hour and a half, I called Crepes on Columbus to see what was going on. The woman on the other side of the phone was as nice and apologetic as could be. She instantly refunded my order through grubhub and sent me a nice hot meal for free. Yes, for once I had to wait about 2 hours for my food instead of 20 minutes, but how quickly and humbly they dealt with this problem was wonderful. Thank you so much, Crepes on Columbus, for being such a reliable and tasty delivery option on the Upper West Side!!!

Internet, I'm going to confess something to you. I have been known to order a single crepe with white, dark, and milk chocolate filling - all at once, and I'm not sorry, and it's like cutting into a chocolate steak, and I just love this place!

Usually I love this place, I've been there a few times, service was always great! Today everything was HORRIBLE!! There was a bug in my iced coffee!! The waitress replaced it. I ordered the egg platter. I waited over 30 minutes to nothing!! And the place wasn't even that crowded when I walked in. I couldn't wait longer: I walked out. Very disappointed and disgusted. The owner or previous management seems to have not been there. Shame I used to like this place.

My favorite place to eat crepes from !!! I love this place, the only reason they don't get a 5 though, its because I feel like the crepes keep getting smaller and the prices keep on going up. Other than that, if you want amazing crepes, come here ! Been ordering from them for many years :)

While spending this summer in New York City, a friend of a friend recommended Crepes on Columbus in Manhattan Valley. Even though the neighborhood was slightly sketchy, the restaurant seemed to have been remodeled recently. My friend ordered the Prosciutto Sandwich ($10.75) with fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and pesto. It also came with a salad on the side. The bread looked like baguette, but I think it tasted like French bread. I don't eat pork so I don't know what the sandwich tasted like. my friend said the prosciutto was slightly dry. I chose the savory Smoked Salmon crepe ($12.75) with ratatouille, egg, scallions, and basil creme fraiche. However, I modified the menu to cater to my taste bud, so I substituted egg and basil creme fraiche with avocado and spinach. The crepe had two surprises, one of which was pleasant, the other not so much. First, it was packed with smoked salmon and spinach! I tried to cut it with a knife but this proved to be difficult because the inside would ooze out. The second, not so pleasant surprise was that it had guacamole instead of avocado...I was expecting fresh avocados! Also, the combination of smoked salmon and guacamole was weird. The crepe was crispy enough when I first got it, but it quickly became soggy.

Very friendly staff. Crepe took over 20 min to come out and was pretty mediocre (I got the salmon with cream cheese and it wasn't evenly distributed and was overly salty). The cutlery was also dirty when I first received it, so I had to send it back. I wouldn't come back again, just because it's so basic and over priced.

Very yummy crepes. We tried a breakfast crepe and a sweet crepe. They put a lot of ingredients into the breakfast crepe, we were very full after splitting one. The Nutella Strawberry and Banana crepe was delicious! The crepe itself on the other hand came out a little doughy, but the flavor is on point. This place is pretty far from anything, but very close to the train station. Price is fair and service is fair.

I knew I shouldn't have come to this place first of all my fellow yelpers suggested not to and I just had a gut feeling we should go else where. Got here around 1130ish with only one other table. Browsed the menu for about 5-7 minutes or so and then checked into yelp of course. Anyway I ordered the savory crepe that consisted of avocado, chicken, basil creme, and goat cheese. And sat around and chit chatted with my eating buddies. I rechecked yelp and realized I had check in more than 30 minutes ago and our food still had not come out. At this time there's now 3 other tables. I can't imagine how much longer we would've waited if there was a full house. So our food finally comes out and I'm surprised at how small the crepe dish is. The crepe itself is nothing special sort of lacked in flavor, the potatoes are bland and mushy. To add to my experience at this "wonderful" establishment, I asked for a refill of water which I never got and when we paid our bill we wrote how much to be charged per credit card on the back of the receipt. the waitress with the short hair and glasses didn't know how to count and charged one card less than she was suppose to and another card more than she was suppose to I mean how hard is it to follow directions. I'm upset I paid $15.75 for food that u could've made better myself. $68 for 4 people for breakfast is ridiculous!

Nothing spectacular in the decor here but the crepes are solid. I ordered the turkey, goat cheese, and ratatouille which came with a side of mesclun greens. It was decent but I'd recommend my friend's instead, the tiger shrimp with spinach and basil creme. Definitely the more flavorful choice. We also split a chocolate crepe, for which we chose dark chocolate, almonds, and strawberries. I loved that the sweet crepe came with dark chocolate shavings - definitely spoke to the chocol-holic in me. The server was also kind enough to already split the crepe and bring it on two plates (I got the bigger portion. ;)) Overall, a decent experience, albeit pricier than I think it should be for something I could make for myself ($13-$15 for savory crepe and $8 for chocolate).

The breakfast crepes are delicious! The people are super sweet, the place is very cute. They don't mind if you linger over coffee. We offered crepes to share and it was kind of them to simply serve our meal dished out into two portions! I've never had a restaurant do that before! Each plate had the sides of potatoes and salad, and perfectly garnished! Really appreciate it. The dessert crepe was good but not the best I've had. Over all a great experience!

My second visit to this establishment with a Living Social. The crepes are amazing. We ordered the goat cheese and caramelized onion crepe and the lemon and sugar one. Everything states so fresh and has a great light flavor. Coffee needs improvement as it tastes old, I highly recommend changing to a French press! Service is also decent.

This was an awful dining experience. It went from bad to worse. There were 5 of us on Sunday at 10am and upon sitting it took a very long time to place an order. 3 kids and 2 adults. 5 people ordered 5 crepes. It was very very slow to receive the food. Once it came, only 3 crepes came. No acknowledgement of the other 2 and one was for my 3 year old. This is when it all went to hell. We could not get anyone to the table to ask where the other two meals were. Finally my wife got up to ask the waitress - the waitress shrugged. No apology. By now the other 3 had finished the meal. No crepes for the other two. We got another waitress over who said she would check but never came back. Still no apology 30 minutes after the original 3 meals were delivered. We finally got a bus bit over who acknowledged there were problems in the kitchen. 45 minutes after the 3 original crepes arrived, we finally received the other 2. All this time the staff was sitting around. No sense of urgency to solve the problem. No apologies or checking in with us. I asked for the manager but they said he was not in. They were rude, indifferent, and didn't seem to care - no service mentality whatsoever. I wanted a second coffee and didn't dare ask because I was trying to get the other meals. We finally got out of there at 12. 2 hours for crepes with rude service. They didn't even apologize at the end or offer to take something off the bill. This restaurant must have forgotten they are in NYC where we have tons of choices. Even though they make a nice crepe, its not worth the frustration and aggravation.

Great service and friendly staff. The goat cheese potato cake was amazing and so was the chicken mango crepe. We also had a Nutella crepe which was as good as we expected.

My co workers and I came here for lunch. I ordered grilled chicken with mango and red bell pepper crepe and it was fantastic. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the very slow service. I think it's nice to come here when you re catching up and chatting with a long lost friend and your order just come before you know it. But if you're starving you'd be cursin out the place bec the service is freakin slow. Overall, good food in the house to compensate. I'll come back here not very hungry. :)

Honestly this was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The kitchen must have lost our ticket and it took more than 40 minutes after we *ordered* to even get our food. Only one woman, who was not our waitress, apologized and other staff were actually rude. After we ordered, the table next to us had customers leave, the table bused, new customers sat, ordered, got their food, finished eating and *paid* before we even received our food. After checking in, one waitress said our food would be next, but another table got theirs about 10 minutes later. Our waitress then inexplicably *handed us our bill* and we said we hadn't yet gotten our food.... No one apologized, just looked confused. After checking in a second time, a staff person said the food would be next. When I explained we were told that 10 minutes ago and other tables keep getting food, she rudely said "well I just checked and your ticket is next so that's pretty conclusive"!!! Again no apology. At this point we just wanted to leave, asked for the food to go and the check. No food was comped, not even coffee, and again the only person to apologize was the one nice woman who was not our waitress. Overall, it was an unbelievably uncomfortable experience. My roommate and I left with our food, our waitress didn't apologize on our way out, and we ate, albeit quite tasty food, on our couch, glad to be out of that somewhat hostile-feeling atmosphere.

Crepes were good but they lost our order so it took much longer than it should have. The espresso was incredibly burnt it was almost impressive. Overall, seems like the food is good but the espresso was just awful.

The best place to get a great meal anytime. Cozy place and the staff (includding the owner: Steve) are so nice. Best Crepes ever!

The service here is horridly slow. The chicken / spinach / creme crepe was serviceable, as was the side salad. The iced coffee was icky. Everything was so poky. Bikaffe.

Kind of upset that I didn't go with my initial gut feeling which was to order breakfast at 5:30PM... Instead, I got sidetracked by the theme of the restaurant's name and decided to go with a bacon, avocado crepe with basil creme. I wish I had just gotten breakfast.. I'm not going to bash the crepe, or the idea of it, but it was just not my style of eating. The basil creme was pasty and too pungent. Considering that they line the interior of the crepe up with it, it just seems like overkill on the taste buds. The kind of overkill you might feel from biting into a lemon. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I want that sort of overkill, but mostly not from my bacon. I will say that I will be back because I still have to try one of their chocolate crepes, but for now, if you want to taste some really good food within a crepe, and including the crepe, do yourself a favor and make the trek over to Pates & Traditions in Bk. Trust me on this one.

Great service! These guys are great. We went there with my boyfriend on a sunday morning. We were not extremely hungry so wanted to share a single crepe. They served the single crepe on two separate plates and put the sides on both plates. This is something that you can find only in only very good restaurants and doing this at this local cozy business is something that really requires attention for detail and great care for customers and service! We were very impressed by this! The crepe was good. I regret that we did not choose one of the more juicy/saucy ones. We built our own crepe and picked ham, swiss cheese and mushroom as ingredients. It was good but I fancy the others on the pictures on yelp.. Will definitely go back and try other crepes on the menu! Great job guys!

  • Meana K.

Prices are good and the crepes are great. The side of potatoes and salad with the savory breakfast crepes is plentiful, but the salad could use a little bit of dressing or seasoning. I ordered ham, Swiss, and spinach both times I went, and my friends tried both savory and sweet crepes -- all of which were a hit. The crepes were on the thick side, as Jessie D said, but made with buckwheat flour. Friendly staff, seems like they're still getting organized, but it's definitely a decent experience.

Very cozy cafè, with a friendly story-telling staff. They serve a very nice plate of pancakes, and a delightful yoghurt. I strongly recommend it, to people looking for a nice little cafè.

It was my first time there today. I ordered the crepe with ham, cheese, and egg. Simple and tasty. Food-wise, I had no complaint. The service was not bad, but could add more staff when it was busy during sunday brunch. I wish the ventilation was much better. No window was open. The kitchen was inside, semi-open to the dining area. I smelled like the restaurant hours after the brunch. I had to change and shower before going somewhere else.

I'm not a big fan of crepes, and this place didn't really better my excitement. It was good, and I ate it all, but it's not something I'd be dying to take my friends to. I had the smoked salmon, ratatouille and goat cheese. I also tried a sweet crepe. All good, but just good. There was nothing spectacular going on.

Really really enjoyed this place! Got the mandarin orange, creme fraiche, caramel crepe and it was amazing!!! We also got the goat cheese potato cake, ratatouille, poached egg and also loved that! Will definitely be adding this to my go to brunch spots on the UWS!

I would give Crepes on Columbus a 3.7 for food, but everyone else there gave it a 4-5 rating. The service was nice, with a friendly girl helping us out. I ordered a "chocolate crepe" - choose three ingredients and if you want more it is $2/ingredient. I ordered coconut, white chocolate and pineapple. It was pretty good! It was beautifully presented, but it took about 25 min to get our 4 crepes. We got 2 savory an 2 sweet crepes. The mushroom, goat cheese and cartelized onion crepe was delicious and was "5 stars". It came with an amazing salad. The turkey crepe was also superb and came with a salad. The chocolate and fruit crepe was "4 stars" and be sure to ask for mangos in the crepe because they are fresh and amazing! It is a nice little place with good food and great service!!!!!

What they served me was not a latte. It was more like cafe con leche. I've had my fair share of good coffee and this was just a bland coffee flavored milk soup. When I suggested it was not a latte, the waitress basically said I didn't know latte from cappuccino, etc. So, while some people really like this place, it didn't impress me personally. However, I didn't try the crepes.

All three times I visited I was satisfied with the crepes. Nothing too mind blowing, but the ham and cheese crepe as well as Nutella crepe are both delicious. Recommended for a low-key friends/family brunch, nothing extravagant.

One of six people in restaurant- took over an hour to get food without any update from staff. Seems like they gave all to-go orders priority. Place eventually filled up with smoke which irritated our eyes. Coffee was gross. Wait staff unapologetic. Ended up giving us wrong order. Third bad experience here.

  • Dhrumit J.

Been here a couple times, have loved it each time. There's often quite a crowd and a wait on weekend mornings. The place is a bit small so you're cramped and are almost touching the patrons next to you. But the crepes are fabulous. Had a few sweet crepes that were perfect, and a savory crepe that was pretty good too. The orange, dark chocolate, and creme freche crepe is the best I've had. Not too heavy but a nice rich, sweet, and tart combo.

  • Soo Yeun J.

We ordered a custom made crepe: hazelnut chocolate with banana and caramelized apple. It was absolutely sweet! (A little too sweet to be honest.) But, the service was too slow.. we were waiting for half hour for a single crepe to share.. :(

  • Dustin H.

Disappointing. I love a good crepe, and there are some tasty enough ones here. The problem with this place is the service. It's disorganized, apathetic, and inattentive. Not even the best crepes in the world, which these are not, could save the experience. We had probably four different staff come to the table. All of them were zombies. The first who took the orders seemed to question everything we wanted (Yes, we do want that. That's why we said so in the first place!). None apparently communicated as we were asked repeatedly if we wanted a dessert crepe too (we had ordered one at the beginning of the meal). That may sound like we were getting a lot of attention, but this was over an exceedingly long period of "meal" time. The dessert crepe never came, so we cancelled the order. No one the whole meal offered to refill our waters or coffee. Even getting the check seemed to take half an hour. There's some serious organization of the service staff that needs to happen here. The place was initially busy, but the service actually got worse when it had emptied out considerably. Stick to one server for a table, and learn to check in on your customers once and a while!

Three years later, we finally found a respectable place for breakfast. Today was our third visit. The coffee is the best I've ever had, seriously. They have some secret coffee bean supply that delivers a perfect roast. The owner, who is a nice and classy guy always waits on us. Note to self: "Oeuf Columbus" plate is awesome.

  • Nina Y.

We came for dinner and immediately regretted not coming for breakfast (which we grabbed at a corner deli nearby serving overcooked eggs, rubbery sausage patty, and bread-like pancakes all served on a paper plate). Crepes on Columbus was affordable and delicious for the price you're paying. I ordered the Nutella and banana crepe and a croissant and my boyfriend ordered the goat cheese, mushroom, and caramelized onion crepe. We cleaned the plates easily. I recommend it to anyone staying at the hotels nearby looking for an affordable and tasty meal. In addition, the guy who took our order (guessing the owner?) was super friendly and nice. And the atmosphere was a nice cozy cafe. Left in a good mood.

Ugghhhhhhh amazing. Order everything. In more serious news-- the sweet crepes are great although I'm not a fan of strawberries fundamentally so that was an issue for me. The bread was steaming fresh out of the oven, the omelettes were holy shit try salmon cream cheese. I love.

This place is amazing! Went on a Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend and the waitress was very cool and helped us order our meals. The nutella/strawberry crepe was good, a little too sweet for my liking. However I really loved the breakfast options ( we went back the next morning) I got a whole platter of food for under 10 bucks they do put alot of food, the potatoes and pancakes are just right. There is a wait in the morning so be prepared! They can get very busy.

Went here with my cousin in mid July & I just happened to stumble across this place after getting my brows threaded at NY Threading Salon, which is just around the way. I had the chicken with spinach, mushrooms & basil cream-talk about delish with the mesclun salad on the side! It was so good I had one to go! And for dessert-creme fraiche, mandarin oranges & homemade caramel sauce! OMG! Just drooling over the thought! The service was good-went on a early Saturday evening around 6p. I'm DEFINITELY coming back! Yumm-Mo!

I came here for brunch with a friend on Sunday, hungover, tired, in the clothes from the night before, craving sugar - this place did not disappoint. I ordered the sweet chocolate crepes with Nutella, strawberries and craime freche which was absolutely incredible. Initially the portion size looked slightly conservative (being the type of gal where anything less than a whole jar of Nutella balanced on a spoon is a disappointment) but it was perfect and I left full rather than stuffed. The staff are very friendly, just as I yelled with my mouth full of crepe 'THIS IS SO AMAZING' one of the staff leant down to grab my empty glass, so we bantered for a while, it was nice. Decor here is slightly bland, but they get away with it. I wouldn't, for example, come here for dinner necessarily, but definitely bring the lady friend here for some extra points on a Sunday.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!! Crepes on Columbus is hangover food at it's finest. The crepes and egg sandwiches are delicious. I've only had the sweet crepes so I can't say how the savory ones are but I'm sure they're good as well. I love that you can pick your own toppings, though the ones they have on the menu are good too. The staff is nice, it's not to expensive, and they deliver. They're also really good when you aren't hungover, like when you just want a nutella, strawberry and peanut butter crepe for dinner. You just really need to try this place.

  • Lena Z.

My expectations before ordering was 1. a delicious crepe 2. a reasonable price for a delicious crepe 3. friendly staff my first two expectations were not met. I did not get a delicious crepe because the crepe was soggy and I felt like I was eating a thin stuffed soggy pancake. The price wasn't worth the product. It is very true that they have a large variety of all types of crepes, but it wasn't what I imagined a crepe would be like. Maybe I am just use to crepes that are crispy and thin. But, the staff is friendly at least. As a pancake like crepe, the flavor was decent.

LOVE this place. Delicious crepes, especially the raspberry or the chocolate crepes. Egg sandwiches are also very good. Nice fluffy eggs. The staff is very friendly. My only complaint is that it's often very busy and tough to get a table during prime brunch hours on weekends, but what are you gonna do about that. Nice, quiet atmosphere on weekdays. Incidentally, I once got very sick and puked here (for reasons unrelated to the restaurant -- I was sick and hadn't even ordered yet) and they were very nice about it and gave me napkins.

Service sucks. Food is not that good. Ordered the steak and eggs and blueberry pancakes. Asked to have the steak medium but came out well. They remade it but it still came out well done. Also asked for jam/jelly for the pancakes and I asked for two different flavors but they said I could only pick one. I mean just charge me for the second one or something. Enough said...

  • Brittany M.

Over priced and under delivered. The crepe was soggy and the coffee is terrible. You can choose three ingredients for a breakfast crepe (but eggs count as one). If you want any extra it's $3!!! $3 for spinach or mushrooms?! I could buy an entire BAG for that. Needless to say I wish we had gone some where else for breakfast.

This place is fantastic. I went here for brunch on a recent trip to the city. Yelp gave it middling reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. If I remember correctly, I ordered both a savory crepe (similar to an omelette) and a desert crepe (with chocolate and bananas). Both were delicious and quite large. I was highly satisfied.

Great brunch/lunch place in the area. I came here for weekend brunch with a friend. There was a short wait but once we got seated we weren't rushed and we actually stayed quite a bit talking even after we finished our meal. Crêpes are the highlight here of course and I had the breakfast crêpes filled with smoked salmon, spinach, and goat cheese. It was delicious and filling. There are standard brunch fare on the menu and dessert crêpes as well so I plan to try those another time. Their cappuccino was also excellent.

We have enjoyed dessert crepes here before, but this was our 1st time having he savory crepes for dinner. We tried the chicken and ratatouille and the chicken with spinach and mushrooms in basil creme sauce. Both entrees were delicious with good balance of chicken and vegetables. Always very friendly service. We will definitely be back and we recommend this for a tasty, inexpensive and worthwhile meal.

You know, I do really like this place for delivery. I usually order eggs, cheese, and bacon on a croissant and a strawberry, banana, and nutella crepe and its all really yummy. Its a bit more pricey than I would like, but it is the only decent place that delivers on weekend mornings. And really, it is quite good and a decent portion of food. But while we are the delivery topic, this place is really unpredictable and inconsistent about delivery via grubhub. Sometimes, grubhub just says "closed" or it flat out doesn't appear, which leads me to believe that someone at Crepes at Columbus is just not clicking a button to make the restaurant visible on grubhub. Whatever, I could deal with that if it weren't the case that when I call, they didn't say things like: "actually we don't deliver to you", "we don't deliver until 10AM", "We don't deliver through grubhub until noon". I never argue because what's the point? I just wait until it appears on grubhub and then I order. I just think it is worth mentioning because if you want delivery and you want crepes on columbus, beware that it may not show up on grubhub and when you call, they may act like they don't deliver to you. By the way, I am well within their delivery zones, I am on the far end, but definitely in their delivery zone.

A diner turned creperie. They've got sweet a and savory crepes, as well as a few other things on the menu. Service was a little slow, but we managed. The food hit the spot. It's a good place to grab some food and pee if you're hanging out in the park.

After purchasing a "livingsocial" certificate, I called Crepes on Columbus to place an order since I live right around the corner and know that they need prep time.....the nice young lady that answered the phone wasn't familiar with menu items that are on Crepes of Columbus' menu and in addition, once I received my food, I realized that it was 1/2 the amount I usually received so I called and was told that although they used to serve 2 porkchops for almost $20, they now only serve 1 per order and that's it's noted on the INHOUSE menus, so that was equally as disappointing as not being able to order the artichokes on their menu. I actually had a "bumpy" experience this time, however I do have another voucher that I have to use, so let's see if they "step their game back up to par" because if not......I'm a USED TO BE CUSTOMER. BTW...........the porkchops are not bigger, thicker, tastier or even centercut........so I'm not sure why the bait and switch, smh

I have been a loyal customer at Crepes on Columbus for over 4 years and I can say that it has the best crepes in the city, hands down! And I'm French, so I know what good crepes taste like. My favorite is the breakfast crepe, where you can choose 3 ingredients of your choice. I always get the tomatoes, goat cheese and basil cream. It comes with a side of potatoes and salad. YUMMY! They also have amazing dessert crepes, like the nutella and strawberry one. The crepes are pretty big so I would recommend ordering one savory one and then splitting the dessert one with your friend. The sandwiches, soups and quiches are also to die for. The baguette they use for the sandwiches is delicious. So are the croissants! So I highly recommend you go there for a nice meal. Be advised that they get pretty busy during the week ends around brunch time so if you want your experience to be more low key, go during week days! The owner and manager, Steve is so sweet and he always makes sure your dining experience there is pleasant. Bon appetit!! :)

5 stars for delivery & to-go orders. The food here is PHENOMENAL. I ate inside the restaurant once - it is true to its French roots - laid back, slow service. Dining in is not so great for people who are accustomed to the fast pace of New York, but fantastic for visitors or people with time on their hands! Delivery orders are always super fast.

The crepes were excellent. We had 2 savoury and a dessert crepe. Everyone thought they were excellent. However, the other items from the menu we tried ranged from mediocre (salad) to disappointing (soups). We make a much better butternut squash soup at home than what they served (and it is not a difficult dish to prepare). Service and atmosphere are casual. Prices were reasonable for the crepes. We would recommend it, but only for the crepes.

I came here with a few friends for a quick bite. We were staying nearby and we had a little time to spare before our flight home, so what the hey! I had a savory crepe with roasted chicken, basil cream, mushrooms, and spinach ( yelp.com/biz_photos/crep… ). The crepe in my opinion was okay; it was sort of dull and bland. The crepe could have been a tad bit crispier and I wish there was a little bit more flavor overall. My friends ordered a variety of things, which included the following: - Oeuf Columbus, which included poached eggs on a goat cheese potato cake with ratatouille. My friend was actually pretty disappointed with this one, because the "poached" eggs came out almost hard boiled. When she asked them whether they can remake her eggs, they happily obliged--great customer service! The order was even on the house. - Smoked Salmon Crepe ( yelp.com/biz_photos/crep… ), which included salmon, ratatouille, egg, scallions, and basil. My friend had no complaints, so that's a good sign. - French Toast with eggs and bacon ( yelp.com/biz_photos/crep… ), which was just that--french toast, sunny side up eggs and some bacon. It sounds like it is hard to screw up, but the french toast was overcooked. The edges were charred and masked with powdered sugar. - Pancakes with blueberries and bananas and a side of sausages ( yelp.com/biz_photos/crep… ), which included just that. Again, it sounds like it's hard to screw up, but somehow they managed to screw it up. When we placed our order, the waitress had asked whether my friend wanted the fruits cooked inside the pancake or on the side and my friend had said inside. As you can see by the picture though, the order came out with the fruits on the side. Although the customer service is great, the food and chefs are unfortunately not. Their food requires a lot of improvement in terms of both preparation and taste. If you're considering, don't waste your time and just go elsewhere.

4.5! I woke up craving pancakes and fried chicken. Who does that? Since we were headed to Central Park, the hubs decided to ask Yelp for breakfast advice. After reading the reviews to see what the worst ones said, we decided to give it a try because they weren't too bad. I ordered the pancakes with bacon and scrambles eggs and a side of milk. The hubs got the Columbus Oeuf and a side of got chocolate. He scarfed it down so fast that I did not get a chance to take a photo!! He complimented the bread that came with the eggs, (which is huge him being French and all), and liked the hot chocolate. I fortunately got a photo of my meal and started munching. It was good! Steaming hot and hit the spot! LOVED the pancakes!! The eggs were a bit rubbery but over all it was a great meal and now I am too stuffed to walk through the park. Rats!

The food is delish!!! Had both a savory and sweet crepe. The basil cream did not disappoint. It wasn't packed when I first got there but it quickly picked up. Service was a tad slow but there was only one waitress working the entire restaurant. She was a little frazzled but still very courteous and friendly. I like the fact that you can see them make your food- nothing to hide.

Made an invention today - smoked salmon and goat cheese crepe. It sounds weird but was delish. The wait was less than 5-10 minutes ands the service was better than I would have expected given the large crowd and small prices. Worth a visit. The potatoes are excellent.

Ordered via GrubHub - the order came fast and was accurate. The crepes are reasonably priced, but the toppings are a little too pricey, starting at $2.50 for whipped cream...ehh, at least they helped me save some calories at that price. All else is great, will be back for more crepes and smoothies. Enjoy!

Here is the skinny version: great food; cheap prices; totally worth-it! Here is the long review: Crepes on Columbus has a down-to-earth local feeling to it. The staff are nice and very accommodating. From the minute we walked in, they were working to ensure that we knew they were working to accommodate us, even though the place was packed with people. Once they sat us down, it took them just 7 minutes turn around and ask if we were ready to order. Impressive for a super packed place. The crowd ranges from the locals to the tourists who are visiting NYC and want a bite of its taste. And the flow of crowd comes and goes in waves. When we walked in, the place was packed but within 20 minutes, it was slow again. By the time we were ready to order desserts, it was picking up again. But that's to expect for a Sunday brunch, anyway. The menu has a selections that excites the taste buds with awesome varieties. The bread types they use to make sandwiches are deliciously fresh. The omelettes are fresh, fluffy, and golden and served with salad and potatoes. Their side dish of potatoes are amazingly delicious! Made at just the right temperature, the potatoes give you the satisfaction of a soft bite that melts its delicious flavor in your mouth. If you are a french-fry fan, trust me on this, you won't ask for french-fries (which they don't serve) after you had tasted them. But the main dishes at Crepes are, of course, crepes. You need to take a moment to look through over seven different styles of crepes that they have and the multiple different toppings you can have on them. Made freshly right in front of you at their counter, you can see them prepare your luxury dessert from your table. The concentration, the fun, the dedication the staff display in preparing the crepes show that to them, this is an art; they really care about your food. My favorite is the Crepes with Dark Chocolate served with strawberry, banana, and blueberries. They know how to pick their fruits for the crepes. They were all fresh, sweet, and savoring. The crepes were draped with warm chocolate sauce and inside was a melting love affair between dark chocolate, sweet strawberries, blueberries, and banana. The taste was worth the wait! After you are done, take a walk in the Central Park. You will wear a smile for hours. I recommend this place without any reservation.

Here was our rundown. -Was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for 6 people, that's totally acceptable for Sunday brunch time. We waited 45 min. -Got 3 waters for 6 ppl. Asked for more, got them the 3rd time we asked. -Got 4 coffees instead of 3, told them, and were still charged. -Had to ask for ice cubes because orange juice was warm. Ice had brown chunks... -Food was delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!! -They forgot about my friends sweet crepes after we ate our food. Waiting longer for that to get to the table. -The wait staff just threw things on our table, it was sweet... -It was so smoky in there my eyes started burning. They need better ventilation. -We were there for about 2 hours... it's a cafe, not fine dining where that is acceptable. Their slogan "I don't give a Crepe" was obviously true. Here's the thing, the food was great! I bet the service is better on a weekday? I don't know if I will go to find out... It's so close to my apartment, I would be there all the time if the service wasn't so poor :(

What a cute little spot! I got the Smoked salmon & ratatouille crepe by my sister's recommendation (she lives near by) and it was perfect! The portions are huge, so I suggest getting one savory crepe and one sweet crepe to share. The savory crepes are pretty filling. For dessert, I decided to not get the chocolate/banana/strawberry combo and opted for the lemon crepe instead. I was expecting a heavy lemon curd filled bite of yummyness, but instead it was a very light lemon favor but still incredibly delicious. I left feeling satisfied, but not overly stuffed. Great place to grab brunch/breakfast/lunch!

I totally agree with all of the negative reviews on here. The service is so bad, it literally makes you want to just leave. So sad too because the food is good. My husband and I went this past weekend and the service was actually at it's worst. We will not go back. I was so depressed by the time we left because it truly felt like the waiter hated us. My husband left a $0.25 cent tip and he NEVER does this as he was a waiter and worked in the service industry for many years while being an actor. Here's the run down: 1. Put our name on the waiting list, and was asked 4 TIMES within the fifteen minute wait what our name was by the SAME young kid. 2. Finally seated. Waited another 15-20 minutes till someone came over to take our order. We truly were the forgotten table. 3. We both ordered orange juice. It never came until our food came and we had to ASK AGAIN for it. 4. Everyone is supposed to get bread before the meal. We never got any. Again, had to ASK for it. 5. My husband ordered sausage with his meal. It never came with his meal. He had to ASK for it AND it still never came, so we had to have it taken off the bill. 6. I ordered a roasted chicken and ratatouille sandwich and got a roasted chicken and ratatouille CREPE! 7. Wanted dessert, but we were too scared to ask. Scared of what they would bring and scared of how long it would take.

I would probably give this place 3.5 stars, not just 3. I went here for brunch on a Sunday and it was great. The waitstaff was friendly. We didn't have to wait long for a table for 4. The food was good. No complaints. I ordered a breakfast crepe with egg whites, goat cheese, and mushroom crepe, which came with potato hash and salad. Everything was delicious. I recommend this place for a nice, simple, no frills brunch.

Their baguettes are so good. So exquisitely crispy. Eggs were perfectly cooked. It's a nice, cozy, simple atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. I think the crepes are not consistently excellent. The one I had today wasn't as crisp as it should've been, and the nutella wasn't melted enough. But hey, smother anything in nutella, strawberries, and bananas and it'll taste good. :)

I LOVE this little neighborhood gem! I go here often and the service is always good, though a little slow but the place is always packed so I guess what do I expect. The crepes are fresh and delicious, my favorite is the plain old sweet butter crepe. The chef salad is one of my favorites as well as the savory crepe of grilled chicken & ratatouille (and I have mozzarella added). One thing in particular that I like about this place is the owner. I've worked at a cafe where the owner doesn't treat his employees with respect and decency. This guys seems to be very gentle, humane and polite. He also takes the time to come around and ask how the food is etc etc. I HIGHLY recommend this place and am a frequent customer myself.

My friends and I went when it was still under construction, and therefore when it was easily missed due to blue construction boards surrounding the building. Inside, however was fairly homey though completely empty at 8pm on a Thursday night which put us on edge, but we persevered and stayed. We all got dessert crepes, and while I don't recall which combos we all got, I think we were all fairly satisfied, however there were some instances of frozen fruit that was rather off putting. Our server, I believe was the owner, and was quite nice (probably because we were the only customers!) A tab bit expensive for something that we can make at home, but hey, thats our price to pay for being lazy...

I used t work around the corner and would have lunch here every other week or so. Their crepes are pretty standard but it's their kidney bean soup that's to die for. It's not on the menu so ask for it. Goes perfect w/ the free french bread!

Great breakfast/brunch spot and the breakfast crapes are delicious. Place was nice and clean but the service was a bit slow. They were also not very good at seating people. It took almost an hour because of chaotic seating practice.

When I lived a few blocks from here, I stop in every couple weeks. The trick to eating here is knowing what to get and what to avoid. The french toast is killer. The breakfast sandwich with eggs and cheese on a baguette is hearty and cheap. The crepes are good, though the sweet crepes tend taste better than the savory. It can be crazy busy in here on the weekends around the time brunch is served. The owner is very nice, when it's not busy you can chit chat with him.

I LOVE Crepes on Columbus. It's original. It's in a neighborhood that you might not have a lot reason to go to other than crepes on Columbus, and I like the atmosphere - very cozy as if it were a coffee shop. I have been there three times all for dinner and always left more than satisfied. Each individual portion can seem on the small side, but if you order a dinner crepe and a dessert crepe, or even a bowl of soup and a dinner crepe (although why you would skip the yummy goodness of Belgian chocolate and bananas is beyond me) i can't imagine you would leave unsatisfied. The fun part of dinner crepe making is picking your combinations. I have had Bacon, Goat Cheese (I'm a sucker for Goat Cheese), & Grilled Onion, but also Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese & Jalapeno (this was a little too spicy and this is coming from somebody who likes spicy). A favorite: The French Onion Soup - I don't get it very many places but I will get it here: very well prepared and goes along with almost any other meal. -1 Star for the infamous slow service you will undoubtedly receive.

For a long time this neighborhood didn't have a really good breakfast/brunch place, and that bothered me. Now there is Crepes on Columbus. Besides crepes, they also make salads, sandwiches and ice cream extravaganzas. It's pretty much packed out on the weekends, but it's also open at night, for when you've got a hankering for breakfast for dinner.

I was here using a Livingsocial deal. I really love this place. When I went it was under construction, so it looks shady from the outside. But when I stepped in, I was greeted with the nicest hostess. She gave us suggestions on what crepes to order and they have many options. I love the texas size hot coffee drinks. Totally worth the money. The crepes were good too!

Oh my god. This place is amazing. I'm so glad I found it. (Or, I'm so glad my contracts professor brought a bunch of us to lunch here.) I had the turkey, ratatouille, goat cheese crepe and it was phenomenal. It also came with a little side salad. But oh man, that crepe was so good. And there are so many options it was REALLY hard to choose which one to get. I can't wait to go back and try something else. I will definitely be back!

The only reason why I put three stars and not higher is the SLOW service. They are always nice, but they are soooooo slow so you can't be in a rush. Besides the service, the dessert crepes are the BEST outside of Paris. What makes their crepes better than others I have had in NY is the dough they use and the good ingrediants they put inside. Lots of places have tough dough or crappy fillings like chocolate syrup or canned fruit instead of the real stuff they use at Crepes on Columbus. Not only are the dessert crepes well made, they are large so you can easily share with someone if you did not leave enough space to polish it off on your own. I also suggest thier Mediterranean salad.

(3.5 stars) Crepes on Columbus is such a comforting place for me. I went there for dinner a couple of months ago with friends and the owner personally took care of us, even going so far to charge nothing to uncork the wine we brought. The crepes are not core shakers, but good. My old standby (ratatouille with goat cheese) is very decent. My friends love the smoothies and I have to say, for all the non-authenticity, I really like CoC.

So my co-worker and I are always stumped when it comes to what to eat for lunch on the weekends. Why didn't I think of this before? Yelp our zip and one of the restaurants that popped up was Crepes on Columbus. Hmmm. "Hey check out this menue. Wanna try it?" fast forwarding to present time....Burp* "That was so friggin good!" I had the chicken mango pepper crepe and a apricot crepe. My friend got the strawberries and creme chocolate crepe. We shared and every single thing was followed by a MMmm. Prices were reasonable and the porportions were filling and satisfying. I'm a fan. Thanks Yelp! Only reason why this didn't get 5 stars was because we are right outside their delivery area.

Met a friend for dinner here last night, after finding out that Zanny's closes down at 6 pm! So much for sweet potato pie.... Anyway, I've been wanting to try this place for a while, so we decided to give it a shot. OMG, the crepes! My friend was in the mood just for dessert and a drink, so she had a beer and an apple/caramel crepe with creme fraiche. It was SO good! I ordered a Croque Madame, which was good, although the bread was a bit tough (which is why 4 stars instead of 5). I then had a lemon & sugar crepe for dessert, which was elegant and simple and wonderful. Service is friendly and charming. I'd definitely go back here to try the savory crepes, and the breakfast menu looks killah!

  • S M.

They actually "screwed up" my order by giving me a crepe that another customer had ordered, but I definitely didn't mind because it was delicious! I had ordered a chicken pesto crepe but got the chicken crepe with fresh mango. Wow. The owner came up when we were finished and said they realized their mistake but saw that I was going to town on it, so he figured I must be happy and didn't say anything!! LOL. Nice guy.

I eat here regularly on the weekends for breakfast/brunch. The crepes are amazing and the other items on the menu are good as well. That being said, let me say I am not the biggest food snob in the world. But, it's a good place for simple, good food. I find the food consistent. Given the fact that its prices are fairly low and reasonable, don't have very high expectations. However, my only gripe is the service. Recently, I've noticed that it has been getting better and it appears they have hired more staff. However, service is very hit or miss. Personally, I believe because I am a regular, I notice I get served slightly quicker than others (my perception). But, I have seen others sit and wait for service for upwards of 15 minutes, just to order and/or get water or coffee. I've only been here on weekends for breakfast, so I can't comment on the other days or meals. However, it is a small, quaint place to eat but on weekends it does get busy and slightly cramped. Nonetheless, I would not say this is a place to drop by for a quick bite, as service tends to be a bit slow. However, if you can tolerate slight laxes in service and great crepes....this is the place to go!

  • Brian H.

While the cuisine is French inspired, the service is decidedly Carribean in flavor: I waited almost an hour for a rather Plain Jane crepe. Don't understand the raves here at all. In fact this place almost makes me want to wait until I am in Paris to have another crepe...

I'll go far out of my way to visit this place, because I'm a francophile and I like my crepes just so - "so" being made on a round hot plate, with the batter poured on the center and then twirled around with a little implement that looks like a squeegee. This is the only way to get the thickness exactly right: thin, crispy, just the tiniest hint of doughiness. Crepes on Columbus does this to perfection. Points of strength: ratatouille and goat cheese crepe; Chocolate Lovers desert crepe (you choose 3 fillings - I get nutella, bananas, and coconut. do yourself a favor and don't get 3 types of chocolate, because you might die). All the crepe orders come with 2 good-sized crepes, folded into rectangles - I usually get one savory and one sweet, and split them both with a friend. They're great here about splitting food; they'll plate the two crepes separately for you, and put salad greens on each plate, so that it looks like you ordered two separate meals, all for no extra charge. I love this place for Saturday brunch, because it's high-quality food but not nearly as crowded as most brunch places. I don't remember ever having to wait to be seated. I personally think the decor is cute, including the mismatched water glasses - the only thing I don't like is the TV screen in the corner of the room that displays a slideshow of random trivia. They're nice here, and probably won't even mind if you practice your fake French accent on them. Mais oui!

  • Kimberli M.

Savory or sweet, they have both! I love their chicken and mango filled crepe and their smoothies. Tasty! Go - taste - enjoy!

Got the homemade caramel, spiced apple, and creme fresch crepe. SO GOOD. Delicious. Tried the lemon sugar crepe as well, it too was delicious. The only drawback is if you go for brunch, there isn't a big dining room so you may have to wait. Worth the wait though.

I'm basing this review on a single dish - the crepe with goat cheese and ratatouille. It was amazing! My colleagues and I came here on Bastille Day to celebrate and we each ordered a crepe. Mine was excellent and I'm sure everyone else was satisfied with their lunch too. It was a bit pricey for me but ordinary for lunch in this area.

The sweet crepe is not as good as the savory crepe. Coffee is normal and is not refilled without asking. In other words, there was lack of attention from the waiter. The pro is there is no waiting.

Love the french toast with eggs and bacon. The toast was light and fluffy. The chicken crepes is not too bad also. Good service. Place turned crowded when we left by lunchtime

Woke up early on a Sunday. Ready for a walk, and then breakfast. Lots of places hereabouts (pr)offering brunch. Almost went straightaway but then thought better, logged in, and (what?!?!?!) not open 'til ten am?!??! 'Til 11. 'Til 9. It is 6:15am now. What's a boy to do? A few more Google entries and Yelp pops up with a plethora of reviews of a quaint hideaway uptown called Craps on Columbus. Oh, you think it is a typo? Well, craps is a game 'o gamblin' and a whole other sort of double entendre too. I had been delighted to see them open at 8. A delightful walk with the brisk January air in my hair, the relative quiet of a NY morn, and rising expectations bubbling out from deep within. What's this? The security grates pulled down. CoC is bundled up more tightly than me. :( It is, in fairness 7:57am. Within the steel drapery is tucked two tempting boxes of today's baked goods. Already delivered by a hardy soul up far earlier than I. I check the specials board through the glass. Open at 8 on Sunday's. I check the sticker on the door itself. Open at eight on Sunday's. It is now 7:59. Not a soul around. Of course, Yelpers had warned me of slow service. I simply had not expected slow to mean no service. Walked to Artopolis. Fine crepes.

I've tried the place numerous times as I live so close to the restaurant. The sweet crepes are pretty good. My favorite is simple with butter and sugar. Chocolate ones are good too. The only savory crepe I tried was bacon and avocado one and it was decent. They do pretty good sandwiches too, prosciutto one is especially good. I've also ordered flan and red mango smoothie with success as well. However my favorite thing is probably their French onion soup in winter. I don't know what they put in it, but it's fantastic. Overall a good place and sweet crepes won't disappoint.

My quiche lorraine was so-so (it felt more like layers of cheese and egg, vs. a light melding of the two), but the menu looked like it had a nice selection of cafe brunch fare -- egg platters, large salads, sandwiches, savory crepes, dessert crepes, etc. The bf's prosciutto sandwich was nice though, not too salty with the prosciutto, and nicely complemented by some pesto. And then, of course, there are the crepes... They have quite the selection of dessert crepes (and savory crepes, but I'm not a huge fan of savory crepes), and I shared a standard strawberry and nutella crepe. You know, I'm realizing, it's pretty hard to go wrong with strawberry and nutella, so long as the strawberries are sweet (they were), they aren't stingy with the nutella (they weren't), and the crepe batter isn't egregiously offensive in some way (it wasn't). This ain't Sophie's Crepes (SF), but it's a reasonable alternative. The inside feels more like a casual cafe (more restaurant-y than a coffeehouse, but more laidback than a full-fledged restaurant) than a brunch hotspot, but there was quite a wait by the time we left the place somewhere around 1:30 pm on Saturday afternoon.

  • D V.

Props for the warm atmosphere. The crepe layer are excellent - just the right thinness and fluffy in texture. The fruits in the filling don't taste fresh unfortunately. Nutella is a bit thick but tastes great. The Grand Mariner crepe is awesome - just the right amount of alcohol flavor. They take their time making the crepes - you could be waiting 30 minutes before you see your food.

Good crepes but be ready to wreak of smoke after. The owner is usually there which helps ensure the food is great, but the crepe irons are out on the counter with no exhaust. If you go for breakfast and the irons are cranking the room fills with (not visible) smoke and you wont notice too much while you are there as it simply smells delicious, but once you leave you will notice that you, your hair, and all of your clothes (including your jacket smell of smoke (not the fire kind, the cooked food kind). We would probably go every weekend for brunch if it were not for this. We were going for awhile but got really tired of smelling and after getting comments from other people we haven't gone in awhile.

My mom came into town this weekend and the only thing she kept asking for (once we were already seated at a restaurant) is, "Do you think they have crepes here?" After explaining to her that, "No, they probably didn't," I really wanted to satisfy her craving. So, last night on the way to Peter Lugers we drove by Crepes on Columbus. I was so eager to try them out that we went totally went out of our way to stop by after dinner. We sat down and ordered dessert and man, was I surprised. I know we had just eaten at a steak house, but I wasn't that full, and these babies were enormous! Between my mother, husband and I we had the Nutella/strawberry, Nutella/strawberry/banana, and the butter/lemon crepes. The owner also took care of us, which I liked. Overall I can't wait to go in and also try dinner.

This is a perfect place for weekend brunch or dinner or a meal. Just a far superior French restaurant than French Roast in all aspects, and without any attitude (that's alway a plus). ALSO, they have French onion soup unlike French Roast, where somehow they always don't have their French soup for one reason or another. The owner is friendly, staff are friendly. They refill your coffee until you say 'uncle'- sort of like a pre-Starbucks New York diner style.

not a big fan of savory crepes, but the ones here are pretty good! i got the boring ham & cheese one, which tasted too much like having breakfast for dinner, but the goat cheese ratatouille crepe was delicious. dessert crepes are the best! i like their selection here, and they even let you make your own from a list of ingredients. the portions are pretty generous and the prices are decent. service is a little slow, not much for atmosphere, and a little out of my way, but i might come back if im around the area.

A really, really, really great crepe hideout. This place features crepes for dinner and crepes for dessert! They also have other stuff like salad and a sandwich selection, but go for the crepes. The place was decently cheap and the food came out fast too. I've only been lucky enough to go once, but writing this now, I really want to get back soon. I recommend the banana and gnutella crepe for dessert. Delicious.

  • Mat B.

The crepes are delicious and one can eat very inexpensively here. Don't plan on having a quick meal at any time when you would expect others might want crepes as well (see: brunch on a weekend); the place fills up quickly during those times, and the service isn't always quite up to the challenge. Also, last time I was there (for a light dinner) they had lost their liquor license, which of course is no fun.

  • Tara B.

I was not impressed by their crepes. The crepe itself wasn't terrible but was kind of thick, the fillings lacked taste, and the sides were just whatever. The restaurant was not busy but we waited quite a while for the food. I'm hoping to find a better place for crepes.

On my quest to find the perfect crepe in a 10 block radius of my workplace, I was anxious to try out this creperie. Having experienced a horrible faux-crepe @ Artopolis the day before, my spirits were down. I read about the wait, the service time, etc. and wondered to myself if my measly one hour lunch break would be sufficient. Luckily, I take a late lunch (2-3pm) and was pleased when my girlfriend and I were able to take a seat in their humble dining room with only one other couple mid-lunch. Service was quick - we ordered the goat cheese/ratatouille crepe and the goat cheese/carmelized onions/mushroom crepe. Both were served with a side of greens with balsamic. Both were delicious (although we both preferred the ratatouille version) and balanced. The portion was big enough to split, if one was planning on having a sweet crepe after. We splurged and tried the basic Nutella crepe for dessert. Delicious, crisp edges, perfect amount of Nutella. (Although, if you're like me, you'll remember to ask them to hold the confectioners sugar next time). The service was on par and courteous. The only unusual thing was the techno beats playing overhead. Il faut y aller!

One of my favorite restaurants in the city! I have lived in this neighborhood for over 4 years and eaten here countless times. It is the place I take visitors, and is perfect for brunch or dinner. Homey atmosphere is a good description, with warm lighting, quality tables and chairs, and a clean, organized layout. The owner can often be found greeting and even serving customers, always there with a warm smile and a joke or two. There aren't many crepe restaurants in the city, but this one is outstanding! I'd recommend for brunch: breakfast crepes (your choice of fillings - eggs, ham, veggies, cheeses, etc) or french toast (with homemade french bread, its amazing), for lunch or dinner: savory crepes (my favorite is roasted chicken with mango red pepper sauce), their salads are pretty big and good quality, and you cannot forget dessert - you can create your own crepe from a list of fillings, including choclate chunks crumbled off a belgian chocolate bar (milk, dark, or white chocolate)! This place is perfect for a casual-to-slightly-dressy brunch, lunch, or dinner. I HIGHLY recommend giving them a try... you'll be back soon!
